SATURDAY SPECIAL GIVE-AWAY CARD - LAST SATURDAY!!

Hello, thank you for stopping by
For this DL card base I die cut the 'Elegant Lace Edger' die set four times in ivory cardstock, twice for the side panels and twice for the top and bottom.  These were then adhered onto black card and fussy cut

I then positioned the base card and stamp into my MISTI and stamped the sentiment with a Versafine Onyx Black Ink Pad.  As this is a pigment ink, and stays wet longer, I sprinkled WOW clear embossing powder over the sentiment, removed the excess and heat set

Cosmic Shimmer Acrylic Dries Clear Glue was applied to the backs of all the embellishments prior to adding them to the card front

I stamped a verse onto pale lemon paper and used a punch to create a pretty border down the sides.  I used the same ink pad but omitted the clear embossing powder for the verse

Leave me a comment on today's post if you would like to own this card, and, for the last time, you have until 9.30am Monday morning to comment
There's a LONG explanation at the bottom of this post as to why there is a change in the day

BLOG NIGHTMARE 2 & JUST FOR YOU!

Hello, thank you for stopping by....

What a night/morning with this blog, I'm developing 'blog phobia'!!  Last night, when I logged on to my blog to post today's card the icons at the top of my page (new post etc) had vanished!  Sent numerous messages to the required forums for help/advice and I'm still waiting to hear from them, may be I'm blacklisted after losing my original blog ;) LOL

Anyway, I've kind of got in through the backdoor and may have to do this permanently but if I disappear again it could be because of this problem, or health reasons, or I've won the lottery and I'm on vacation.... I don't play the lottery!

I usually work a week in advance with my posts, it's only because of it being Christmas week that I've not done this, so enough of the blabbering on and here's today's card....

An 8" square 'dark roast coffee' base card with coordinating cardstock of peach and orange.... first time I've used this combination but, sometimes, you have to get out of your 'comfort zone'

I die cut the peach card, top and bottom

Omitting the cutting dies from the second set, I used two of the circular dies for the centre then matted the top panel onto orange card

I die cut the swirls from the same colour of the base card and added pale, peachy flowers

The sentiment was stamped using a brown ink pad

The card inside does look a lot deeper but I can assure you it is the same orange card I used for the card front

I used the same circular die but embossed it keeping all the fall out pieces in place by adding single sided tape to the back of it
The corner pieces are also from the same range of dies

Sorry about the shadow!

INGREDIENTS:
  • Dark Roast Coffee Card ~ Creative Expressions (CE)
  • Orange and peach card ~ CE
  • Australian Collection Die Set 'Melbourne' ~ CE CED8105
  • Australian Collection Die Set 'Corner, Border & Tag ~ CECED8102
  • Twisted Metal Tags & Accents Die Set ~ Spellbinders
  • Platinum Machine ~ Spellbinders
The Australian Die Set Collection is available from CraftStash

Until tomorrow (hopefully)....

JUST FOR YOU - TWO CARDS TODAY!

Hello, thank you for stopping by....

Going for a splash of colour with today's DL card!

I've used the balloon die set, included are 4 different style balloons, strings and a bow

I coloured white card stock with distress inks prior to die cutting the balloons.  Once the strings had been adhered to the back of the balloons and they were in place on the card I added Nuvo Crystal Drops in 'Morning Dew' to each one and when dry the bows were added

I used two Pixie Powder colours for the splashes of colour at the bottom of the card, the blue colour isn't as dark as it is showing on here, I also ran a Nuvo Glue Pen over the area and sprinkled 'glitter jewels' over the glued area

The sentiment was stamped, die cut, colour added to the edge and adhered to the card

The verse was stamped onto grey marl paper using one of the stamps from the 'Amazing Sentiments' collection, and stamped with 'shaded lilac' distress ink

I added the splash of pixie colour down one side of the envelope and stamped 'Birthday Mail' using StazOn Jet Black ink pad
A 4"x6" card with softer colour tones added at the bottom, pretty enough for a little girl, would you agree?

INGREDIENTS:

  • Balloon die set ~ Elizabeth Craft Designs 1393-Balloons
  • DL card ~ Woodware
  • Distress Inks ~ Ranger
  • Nuvo Crystal Drops ~ Tonic
  • Nuvo Glue Pen ~ Tonic
  • Pixie Powders ~ Creative Expressions (CE)
  • Glitter Jewels ~ CE
  • Just For You Stamp ~ CE
  • Amazing Sentiments ~ CE
  • Grey marl paper ~ my stash
Until tomorrow....

WISHING YOU A BRIGHT & BEAUTIFUL DAY

Hello, thank you for stopping by....

I'm making a conscious effort to use all my left-over card stock, new stamps, dies etc etc

This A5 pearlised card was in my 'white card scrap box' and had the second smaller panel, with the same card, already adhered to it

I used a StazOn Jet Black Ink Pad to stamp the images and sentiment and numerous Chameleon Pens to colour the flowers and bird

Once the inks on the flowers were dry I went over the petals with a clear  'Wink Of Stella'

At a later date I'm going to give these Chameleon pens another try,  because at the moment I'm not caring too much for them!

The colours, plus blending pen and 'Wink Of Stella' are shown below

The colours used, plus blending pen and 'Wink Of Stella'

INGREDIENTS:
  • white pearlised card stock ~ Crafter's Companion
  • Hummingbird Symphony Stamp Set ~ Papercraft Inspirations
  • Sentiment stamp ~ Die Cutting Essentials Issue 32
  • Chameleon Pens
  • StazOn Jet Black Ink
Until tomorrow....

STAMP, STENCIL & A LITTLE INK PLUS SATURDAY'S CARD WINNER

Hello!!  Thank you for stopping by, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and you're continuing to enjoy the festivities

Today's card is a quick and easy make

It's a 7" square ivory base card with a smaller black panel then a smaller ivory top panel

I secured the stencil to the top panel and using a smoothie applied black soot distress ink over the design.  The stencil was then removed and I gave a very light spritz of hair spray over the distress ink to set it

I used 3 of the stamps from Concord & 9th for the sentiment and gave it a pop of colour using candied apple distress ink

Another card ideal for batch making, just switch the colour for the stencil and add a coordinating layer panel

There were only 3 comments on Saturday's post and I'm more than happy to send you all, Wendy L, auntie Millie and Littlelamb a card each, later in the week

Until tomorrow....

Merry Christmas Eve!...

Isn't this little guy gorgeous?  A friend wanted a card for their grandson's first Christmas, to keep in his 'memory box'.  There was a few things specified that she didn't want, such as it being not too blue etc etc, I asked if there was a photograph she liked of this cute baby, and, this is what I designed....

Hoping you have a good day today

APOLOGIES!!

Hello, thank you for stopping by....

I lost my voice on Monday (some may say that's a blessing ;) LOL) and was unable to make the video for the Tuesday Tutorial, I now have a very croaky voice and a terrible cough and cold, no good at all for videoing purposes!

I was wanting to show you a new stamp called 'Dahlia Turnabout Stamp' by Concord & 9th, I love this stamp, they also have the matching die but I've not been able to use that yet

So here are a few of the cards I made using this stamp:

I like the effect when stamping 'off the card' as this one, above, is

So, my blog friends, these are a few of the cards made with the one stamp.  I will have a video showing the process but think it's best to wait until the new year now when, I hope, all bugs and germs have vanished!  What say you?

Until tomorrow....

HELLO MY FRIEND

Hello, thank you for stopping by....

Colourful Aster flowers for you today

Onto a DL card I cut a smaller panel in white card and embossed it, added mounting foam to the back and adhered to the card base

I die cut the flowers and leaves using white card stock then coloured the flower heads using Distress Oxide Inks, the stems and leaves were coloured using an aqua pen

I added a glue dot behind both flower heads, for dimension, and flat glued the stems onto the card.  I formed the leaves prior to gluing them to the card

I stamped the sentiment onto white card, fussy cut it and added the same two colours, used on the flower heads to the sides of the sentiment.  Mounting foam was added to this, again, for dimension

Must mention that I have an interesting card design and video for tomorrow's tutorial!

BIRTHDAY MINI ALBUM

Hello, thank you for stopping by....

My apologies for my recent absence all done to technical problems!!

Today's post was for a recent commission from a regular and supportive client of mine.  She sent me a selection of photographs to "do as I please" for her grandson's birthday and I decided to make a mini album

The album is 5"x7".  I created a 'concertina' spine in blue card stock to match the internal pages.  This time I didn't use both sides of each page as I thought my client may like to add a personal message about the photographs

The birthday boy loves football, I fussy cut the footballer several times to give dimension

Naturally I can't show the individual pages as each one has a personal photograph.  I typed the headings and die cut each photograph

I also made a box using the same coloured card stock and added a decorative top to it

The card box with a decorative top

Until tomorrow....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HARRY - CARD AND CAKE

Hi and thank you for stopping by....

It is my friend's grandson's birthday today and he asked for a Pokemon theme birthday cake, this is what I made for him as well as his birthday card

I downloaded the Pikachu image then added the birthday greetings, the balloon is one from a gorgeous set by Elizabeth Craft Designs, well worth checking this set out

I mounted it onto blue pearlised card then onto the yellow base card, A5 size

A deep cake, (awaiting yellow ribbon for the cake drum)

The 'y' on Harry's name was purposely put at a 'jaunty' angle, I wanted to glue one of the little balls (I think they're classed as nummies or something similar) on the top of the 'y', but the little tinker would not stay put LOL

INGREDIENTS:
  • yellow card ~ Creative Expressions
  • blue pearlised card ~ Crafter's Companion
  • Balloon Die Set ~ Elizabeth Craft Designs 1393 - Balloons

FESTIVE FRIDAY 19

Hi, thank you for stopping by....

Several photographs today and I'm not starting with the front of the card!

This first photo is the inside of the card.  Sentiment stamped onto gold paper then embossed
Of course, the obligatory stamped gold envelope
Close up of the embossing as it does not show at all well on the card when I photographed it

 My finger peeking in here!
The card is A5, ivory Centura Pearl, I added a border of double sided tape onto another piece of the same card and sprinkled gold glitter onto the tape then adhered it to the card base

Now you can see what I mean about the embossing not showing at all well when photographed!
On a smaller panel of same card I embossed it using a Crafter's Companion (I think!) embossing folder, adhered to the card and added 3 flat back cream pearls

INGREDIENTS:
  • Embossing folder ~ ?Crafter's Companion
  • Card stock ~ Centura Pearl Crafter's Companion
  • Flat back pearls ~ Creative Expressions
  • Sentiment ~ Clarity Stamps
  • Envelope sentiment ~ magazine freebie
  • StazOn Jet Black Ink Pad ~ Tsukineko
  • Die ~ Ice Crystal Frame/Amy Design
Until tomorrow....
