Hello crafters and blog friends....

I've been desperately waiting for the arrival of Tonic's Craft Kit 15 as the main die included is for making albums.... they are small but can create some lovely memories

As I was previously posting the '12 Days Of Christmas' cards using the stamp set from Creative Stamping I decided to add them to this album

I rarely make 'twee' cards but have 'girded up my loins' and carried on with them for said 12 Days Of Christmas and put them in the album below.  I've also added a few extra pages as you'll see at the end

Good morning crafty friends and bloggers....

I was genuinely touched by your kind words and thoughts on my last blog post, thank you so very much

Today's blog should have 3 short videos but for some reason, known only to Windows 10 and YouTube, they won't upload!  I have a few things to share with you so will try again, later this morning, to upload them.  I can only apologise as this was not the planned way to start the week!

Until later

Good morning my crafty friends

Just to let you know that I have several personal matters/issues to deal with this week and have decided, reluctantly, to take a short break.  Hubby would like me to have a week's 'leave' but if I get things sorted I'm hoping to be back Saturday.  If this is the case I will make Saturday's card the 'give-away' card and Sunday another 'freebie'

I really hope to see you on my return

Good morning  crafty friends....

Did anyone notice the blooper on yesterday's title?  'Festive Friday' on a Saturday as well as a Friday lol.  It had me puzzled for about 30 seconds when I came to schedule today's card.... may be I need a holiday!

I have only the winner of the e/f today as I really need to finish a project I'm currently working on.  Had I not started the '12 Days Of Christmas' I would have dozens of other makes I could have chosen for today.  So enough already and onto the winner

Good morning crafty friends....

Three french hens!  I know french hens are very colourful, at one time, many, many years ago,  I did suggest to hubby that I would like 2 french hens as they are so colourful, that did not happen, we bought 2 kittens!! lol

So, as I said I know these birds are colourful but not for one minute do they have blue glittered feathers as mine do, but it's Christmas and if we can have reindeer flying through the sky then we can have blue glittered french hens

I couldn't resist using  NUVO Crystal Drops on this small card and here's a little tip.  If you attempt to make a drop and it goes everywhere but where it should, then you try to scoop it away and you're left with a coloured mark on your card all is not lost.  Reapply a good sized drop and, with the end of your pokey tool drag the liquid down to form an elongated 'tear drop' shape, just like the one on the sentiment lol

I stamped the image using a distress oxide in 'antique linen' and heat dried  it.  I then used a variety of colours on the image, die cut it when completed and added the die cut to the next larger  die in the set

I carefully cut away the word 'first' on the sentiment stamp and added the '3rd' by hand

I used a scarlet ink pad for the inside stamping as well as adding a little green to the holly leaves

Now onto the card winner:

Good morning crafty friends....

How these weeks fly by!  The second stamp in the freebie set is, naturally, 2 turtle doves, if you were making a card for a winter wedding this would be ideal, so, sometimes,  a Christmas stamp is not always for Christmas

I stamped the image and the words onto white card and heat embossed it with WOW clear embossing powder

A 'berry red' Promarker was used for the berries and a Tonic shimmer pen in 'olive green' for the leaves.  I used the same berry red for the 2

The decorated piece was covered with a piece of double sided adhesive and covered with Glitter Jewell's.  It really does sparkle beautifully

I added 3 small black gems after the number and wrapped black

cotton around the card 3 times, securing it at the back

The black gems were positioned this way as I was carrying on the sentiment inside the card

All in all a quick card make, nothing too elaborate and good for batch making

Last week's embossing folder wasn't claimed so another is up for grabs again

Just leave a comment on today's blog by 6pm Saturday and the winner will be announced on Sunday's blog

Until then

Good morning bloggers and crafty friends....  I'm back!

Finally all sorted with internet, I've felt I'd lost an old friend these past couple of days not being able to blog etc

Last month one of the papercraft magazines had a huge freebie, 2 full sheets (A4 ) of stamps, sentiments and embellishments all pertaining to the 12 days of Christmas.  I'm hoping to use the same size card throughout the 12 days theme then, gave the cards away. as a set, on my blog

This card is 4" x 6"  and I used one of the stitched rectangle dies, by Sue Wilson, to die cut an aperture on the card front

One of the stamps has 'on the first day of Christmas. as one stamp, I stamped it onto white card then cut it out to give me 3 separate stamps as shown on the card front

The remainder of the verse  I used on the inside of the card.  I used an ink cube in  'London Fog' by Memento, to stamp the image and various coloured watercolour pencils to colour it in.  The card is just ordinary white cardstock, not watercolour card

I also drew a very light frame around the image so that it would look as if it was 'floating'

This week's 'give away' card is an eclipse card.  I love making this particular style of card and hope the recipient likes it too!

If you would like to give this card a new home leave a comment on today's blog.  You have until 6pm Friday to do so and the winner will be announced on Saturday's blog

Until tomorrow....

Good morning bloggers and crafty friends....

Did you wake to snow on Saturday?  We did but it was gone, thankfully, within a few hours and that will do me until this time next year!

I've named today's card as 'Man Monday' but it would also be suitable for a female, and aren't I a glutton for punishment with mirri card?!

Using black card I made a 5" x 7" base and added a smaller panel of gold mirri.  To that I cut black card, a tad smaller again, for the top panel

I used one of the striplet dies (Creative Expressions) without using the outer cutting die, to cut and emboss the black card

The top panel was then adhered to the card and I stamped and embossed
a sentiment (Pearl Gold Embossing Powder by WOW)

I used a small ribbon die to die cut and emboss the two tags, in black and gold

We are changing internet suppliers tomorrow so my blog post may not be shown until later or much later in the day

Until then....

Good Sunday morning everyone

I 'found' this pretty paper whilst sorting one of my boxes.  I had downloaded it so I'm sorry I can't give you any further info about it

I used a 5" x 7" white card base then, using Spellbinders's Matting Basics 5"x7" die set, I die cut, using the second largest die,  a smaller panel of white card then, using the next size down, die cut the paper.  I backed the paper onto grey card stock

I stamped and embossed the sentiment then using a pretty pink satin ribbon I made the folds/loops as shown

Small flat back pearls were adhered to each fold and a larger pearl rose bud to each end of the ribbon

I will complete the inside of the card at a later date, plus I don't have any more of this particular paper left

The names from Friday's comments have been entered into the draw and the winner of the embossing folder is:

Good morning bloggers and crafty friends....

Welcome to Anne K thank you for subscribing.  For today's card I started with a 7" square white card base and die cut the gorgeous swirl (Creative Expressions) I didn't use the two outer cutting dies as I wanted to keep the page whole

I used a pale yellow card to add to the back of the die cut

I stamped the sentiment (CE) with a black ink pad then die cut the flowers (Starflowers by JND)

I added NUVO Crystal Drops in Ebony Black to the flower centres the, with a stick pin I pulled the drops to also form a star shape

The two verses on the inside of the card (CE) were also stamped with a black ink pad then die cut and adhered to the card

Now for this week's card winner

Good morning bloggers and crafty friends....

Week 40!  I really do not know where this year has gone!  So, how many Christmas cards have you made already?  Can you guess how many I've made? LOL, at least 40 but I do tend to make two of each card, sometimes changing the second one slightly.  I'll be addressing envelopes next week and another time saver I have always done is to wrap any presents as soon as I get them home or delivered, I write the details in my Christmas note book, where bought, who for, cost, receipt etc etc and always store them in the same place so none go missing then turn up sometime near Easter!

And still I go back and use mirri!  I've had to take the photo at this angle otherwise you would have my face looming in at you!

The mirri card was cut to 5" x 7" to fit the embossing folder that is by either Crafter's Companion or Sheena Douglass.  It embosses beautifully and I wanted to let you see the gorgeous detail on it

I cut a piece of red card 1/8th  bigger and layered it onto the base card with the mirri on top

The ivy leaves were die cut and embossed (Creative Expressions) and I made several cuts on them so I could adhere them how I liked on the card

The sentiment (freebie magazine stamp) was stamped in red satin ink and the die cut is
from the same die set.  I added dimensional to the back of the card

I've kept the second photo in just so you can see how different the mirri looks depending on how and where you take the photo.  It looks so dark!

I had already stamped and coloured the robin (from the same freebie magazine stamp set) so all I had to do was fussy cut it and position it in the ivy
The sentiment (Katy Sue Designs) was also stamped with the same ink pad!

I have this pretty 'Couture creations' embossing folder up for grabs this week.  Who ever wins this I will be taking it out of the packaging just to save a little on postage

As always, leave a comment if you would you your name entered into the draw, you have until 6pm Saturday to do so and the winner will be announced on Sunday's blog post

Until tomorrow....

Morning bloggers and crafty friends....

One of my dearest friends asked me to make a new baby card as their daughter's baby is due over the next few days.  I was going to make a card then decided to make a 'mini' mini album using the envelope technique

We took the album to theirs yesterday and both Anne and Denis loved it.  They already have two granddaughters, so this baby is their first grandson

I didn't realise until we came back home that I'd not taken a photo of the album so I don't have a nice cover the video.  The video is just over 3 minutes

I'm so happy to share you the following.  One of my blog followers, Littlelamb, emailed me a few days ago to say that she really liked one of the folders I'd made and had made one for her friend, who loved it all.  I do too, the papers are used are gorgeous.  I do have Littlelamb's permission to show the photos....

I really love these papers and how the folder has been presented.  Thank you again Littlelamb for sharing

If anyone else makes a project/card from one of my techniques I would love to see and share it too.  Please email them to:

Until tomorrow....

Good morning bloggers and crafty friends....

A rustic themed design today

I used an 8"sq ivory card base, top folding then selected the papers I wanted to use from Crafter's Companion Rustic Wedding Paper Pad, this one is the 6" x 6" paper pad

I chose 3 papers (the tag isn't by CC) and added 2 of the papers to black card

The top panel was cut to make a 4" x 6" piece then added to a slightly larger black, the same as the others

Once happy with how the papers were displayed I added a little glue to hold them in place

A length of hessian was wrapped around them and I was then able to adhere everything onto the base card

I used the Arianna Blooms stamp and die set by Heartfelt Creations to stamp the flowers onto kraft card.  I used 'jet black' StazOn for the stamping

Once embossed I added a little glitter to the petals.  I then added 'abandoned coral' distress oxide ink, to the tips and half way down each petal, the petals were shaped using a ball tool and tweezers (I have to use tweezers as it's too painful for me using only my fingers due to the rheumatoid disease)

A hot glue gun was used to ensure each layer would stay in place then the flower was adhered onto the card

I had some leaves already die cut and embossed (Creative Expressions) so all I needed to do was add a little orange to them and a little green to the single maple leaf
Leaves were dressed around the flower and I fussy cut the tag from Stamperia's 'Ceremony' 12" x 12" paper pad.  I'm using this paper pad to make a mini album for one of my sister-in-law's 60th birthday.  The papers are really stunning!

I used a blending tool to add a little 'black soot', distress oxide ink, to the edges

A little glue added to the back and placed onto the card.  One of the large size cream pearls was also added to the top of the tag

I stamped the sentiment onto cream card, cut it at an angle and added it to black card

To complete I added a little white Gesso/Ranger to some of the edges on the petals

Leave a comment on today's post if you would like to give this card a new home

Your name will be added to the draw, you have until 6pm Friday to do this, and the winner will be announced on Saturday's blog

Until tomorrow....

Good morning bloggers, crafty friends and visitors....

This gift box can serve so many uses depending on what papers/card you choose to use.  I'm going to keep one on my desk and put post-it notes in it.  I'll have another on my work table with.... Wurthers original inside. I love these LOL

There is a video but unfortunately I was not able to edit it very well so I will have to call in reinforcements and will let you know when it's published!

 cut 2 pieces of card 6" x 9"

2  score both pieces at 3" - the card should now look like this....

add adhesive below the score line and adhere to other piece of card - it should now look      like this....

I've held it together with a paperclip but you can see what I mean

this is now the base for the box

now add your papers to the top, spine and, should you wish, to the underneath

5  if you are using ribbon as a closure adhere it to the inside now to that the papers will              conceal it

6  finish adhering the papers to the inside

7  now to make the box

8  you need a piece of card 10" x 10"

9  score at 3" and 7"

10  turn paper a quarter turn and score again at 3" and 7"

this is not to scale
11  cut all 4 corners to the first score line as shown on the red card below

12  cut at an angle on the corner to enable the tabs to adhere nicely in the box

13  apply glue to all 4 tabs and adhere to the box

14  add your papers to the box and then decorate the top of the box as you wish

Until tomorrow....
