TUESDAY TUTORIAL -

Hello and welcome to my happy place....

I've not been well since the middle of last week so we're back to photographs (big thanks to hubby, who also did all the assembling etc etc)  for today's tutorial.... I've trained him well LOL

This is the original DL card with a smaller white panel then a smaller top panel of watercolour card.  Unfortunately the watercolour card isn't white

 Card nos 2

White DL card, smaller white panel then the watercolour card

On the watercolour card add the Distress Oxide in 'fossilized amber'

Then add a little 'peeled paint'

Dab 'worn lipstick' Distress Oxide onto your craft mat and add water.  Pick up the paint with a paintbrush and tap the colour onto your card using another paintbrush to give a splatter effect

Stamp the sentiment with a Versafine Onyx Black Ink Pad

Sissel was adhered to the centre of the card and the flowers adhered over it

I used Alcohol Inks in pink, green and yellow, on a blending tool, to add a border to the inside of the card

Happy Birthday was again stamped with the onyx black ink pad and a little of the alcohol ink colours added to the envelope as well as the 'happy mail' stamp

Until tomorrow....

CRAFTY CARDMAKERS NEW CHALLENGE

Hello and welcome to my happy place....

Chanya is our host for the new challenge at CCM and her theme is 'Get Inky/Messy' and this is my take on that, somewhat of an explosion of inky colour!

In total I used 9 Alcohol Inks onto glossy white card.  I added droplets of 3 different colours onto a blending tool and dabbed the colour over the card, then another 3 colours, followed by the last 3 colours

This was then die cut and adhered to white cardstock

I used the same stamp, by Altenew, to stamp around the border

I added a panel of fuchsia card to the white card base and a smaller panel of sherbert card to that, finally adding the final top panel

I used only 3 colours to add a border to the inside of the card and stamped another sentiment from the same stamp set
A splash of colour to the corner of the envelope and 'Happy Mail' stamped about it

The same to the back of the envelope
INGREDIENTS:
  • white cardstock ~ CraftUK
  • Alcohol Inks ~ Ranger
  • glossy white card ~ my stash
  • fuchsia and sherbert cardstock ~ Creative Expressions (CE)

CONGRATULATIONS TO OWEN & STAMP WINNER

Hello and welcome to my happy place....

My friend's grandson was 18 yesterday and I made a cake for him, he likes his guitar and and his xbox, I went for the guitar theme.  They are having a family tea today with the cake

I can assure you the cake is not lop-sided, that's down to the photographer.... me LOL.  It had guitars and musical notes around it and like a 'swirly' pattern on the cake board

The darker blue panel was embossed with swirls, the 18 and guitar were die cut 3 times, each layer glued together then Glossy Accents by Ranger coated over the two images

I added the Friday names to the 'name picker' and it chose....

COMMISSION CARD AND CARD WINNER

Hello and welcome to my happy place....

One of my nephews celebrated his 30th birthday recently and his mum, my sister in law, asked me if I would make a special card for him from them.  I had planned my own special 'memories card' from hubby and I but decided I would change it so that it came from Adam's parents

It's a 6" square 'memory box' and he loved it.  I was really touched because he sent me a message on the night of his birthday thanking me for making it and, quote "was blown away by it"

A very special verse on the left and the photograph is of Adam's christening, with his parents, little sister and both sets of grandparents.  Sadly my parents, and Adam's maternal grandma are no longer with us.  That's my dad on the right and my mam holding Adam

Adorable toddlers, sister and brother

I added another celebratory verse

Happy memories of growing up

Getting older

My brother, siser in law, niece and nephew.  They are a lovely family

The photograph on the right is Adam receiving a football trophy from Malcolm Macdonald aka Supermac

Now with a family of his own

FESTIVE FRIDAY 1!!!!

Hello and welcome to my happy place....

I can hear you all groan lol.... but if we all made one, possibly two Christmas cards per week, image the relief you'll have nearer the festive time, not rushing to make your cards.  Does that soften the blow any? Possibly not, but may be I can a little!  I have loads of Chloe stamps left over from when my hubby and I ran our sugarcraft and cardcraft shop, so, there will be a freebie stamp each Friday until our supply is exhausted.  They are not all Christmas stamps and there may be a possibility of duplication but we all know that we can't have too much stash, right?

The winner of the stamp will be announced each Sunday and the Wednesday card winner each Saturday

So my first Christmas card for 2018, very plain and simple.  I intend to make another 9 to make up a gift pack and will donate them to our local hospice

A 6" square card and I scored 4lines and placed the snowman in the centre

Die cut the snowman and added 'snow' to the body.  Stickles added to the pompom and around the scarf

I used kraft card for the 'arms'

Mounting foam was added to the back of the snowman

A verse has not been added as I will stamp one when the remainder of the cards are complete

The sentiment was stamped and embossed
Christmas tree stamped and embossed on the corner of the card

Matching envelope

Freebie stamp

INGREDIENTS:
  • Red card and kraft card ~ Craft UK
  • Snowman die set ~ Crafter's Companion
  • 'Snow' ~ The Ducks Doodahs
  • White Embossing Powder ~ Hero Arts
  • Versafine Clear Ink Pad ~ Tsukineko

Another 2 white cuts of card for the collar and a bow tie die cut out of black card

Black gems were adhered to the 'shirt' for buttons and the sentiment was stamped in black onto white card that was adhered to a black tag

INGREDIENTS:
  • Black, red and white card ~ my stash
  • Bow die ~ Creative Expressions (CE)
  • Tag die ~ CE
  • Black gems ~ CE

WEDNESDAY WEEKLY GIVE-AWAY CARD ~ WITH LOVE

Hello and welcome to my happy place....

There's quite a mix in today's card.  I've used another piece of the cardstock from last week's 'Tuesday Tutorial, Marbling With Alchohol Inks' and used a 'freebie' die (the magazine is either Papercraft Essentials or Making Cards) to create the scene

The sentiment and flowers behind the die are from another 'freebie' stamp set by Papercraft Essentials.  I used the same stamp on the inside of the card as shown below

I've also used paper flowers by Orchard Crafts and added two sizes of pearls

I'll be posting this card to the winner in this padded envelope, I've stamped 'Happy Mail' on the left.  So if the owner of this card is going to post this to someone else I suggest you open the package carefully so that it can be reused again in the event you don't have a padded envelope.  The flowers do have a little height and they are quite firm so should post without any damage

Bottom right is the stamp used

The outer die on this set was used
As usual, if you'd like to give this card a new home please leave me a comment on today's post, posting as annonymous will eliminate you from the draw, you will need to leave some identification such as: initials, Betty from Blackpool etc etc

You have until 6pm Friday to comment and the winner will be announced on Saturday's post

Until tomorrow....

Hello and welcome....

I've made today's card for one of my friend's daughter, who is an excellent gymnast and so dedicated to this sport.  I've had the privilege of watching her grow from a baby to  a lovely young girl

I had to download the image as I don't have either a stamp or die!

I added a layer of pale pink card then the sparkled darker pink then the bright multi-spotted layer

The image was die cut and I inked around the edge, I typed the sentiment, added mounting foam to this and adhered to the card

INGREDIENTS:
  • white card base ~ CraftUK
  • pink layers ~ my stash
  • gymnast ~ Google printable image
  • oval die ~ Creative Expressions
  • Platinum machine ~ Spellbinders

TWO FOR THE GUYS

Hello and welcome....

Both cards are an 8" square.  The one on the left has layers of black, gold and ivory cardstock

The two white panels were embossed.  I used a printed paper, matted onto black card for the top panel, die cut happy birthday and adhered it in a vertical position onto the panel and used brads to hold the 4 tags on the left of the panel

Husband was die cut 4 times in black cardstock and I typed 'my wonderful' onto white card and inked the edges

Layers of ivory and brown cardstock was used for the card on the right and I distressed the 2 top panels of card, added a tag, both sentiments were, again, typed and the 'time' charm adhered to the card

INGREDIENTS:
  • Ivory, gold, black and brown cardstock ~ my stash
  • Vertical Happy Birthday Die ~ Tattered Lace
  • Husband die ~ ?Creative Expressions
  • Brads ~ Hobby House
  • Clock charm ~ Hobby House

A FLURRY OF BUTTERFLIES

Hello and welcome....

This is a quick way to add to your 'go to' card collection, especially when you need a card in a hurry!

The white base card is 5"x7" and I cut a smaller white panel for the top piece

I die cut the butterfly on all 4 pieces of card

For the pink background I used another piece of the marble effect card I made a few days ago and on the sentiment stamp I used two coloured inks on the stamp

On the blue/green image I coloured a piece of white card with 3 distress oxide inks, die cut the sentiment and added the remainder of the card behind the butterfly silhouette then added white dots onto it
For the card on the left I coloured another piece of white card with 2 distress oxide inks and followed the same procedure as above but adding small black dots to the background and sentiment

I used a pretty blue paper for the last card and the same paper for the sentiment

Flat back pearls were added to all butterflies

INGREDIENTS:

  • White card base ~ CraftUK
  • White card ~ Papermill Direct
  • Magical Butterflies Die Set ~ Creative Expressions CED1415
  • Distress Oxide Inks:  broken china, cracked pistachio, faded jeans, fossilized amber, spiced marmalade ~ Ranger
  • Happy Birthday Die ~ Creative Expressions
  • Flat back pearls ~ my stash
  • Platinum Machine ~ Spellbinders
Distress Oxide Inks and Creative Expression Dies are available from CraftStash

Until tomorrow....
