Hi and welcome to my 'happy place'....

Starting with a white base card 12.5cm x 18cm (5"x7")  cut a smaller panel in black card then a slightly smaller panel in yellow card

On the yellow panel stamp the two flower stamps from the 'Indigo Blu' stamp set and stamp around the panel with an onyx black ink pad then cover it with a clear embossing powder and heat set it.  (the sheen is not as promanent here as it is on the card itself)

Now adhere to the black card and place the strip of black card onto it with easy lift off tape

Cut a piece of yellow card, for the back of the waterfall, measuring 5cm x 20.5cm and score it at: 5cm, 7cm, 9cm and 10.8cm

Cut 4 pieces of  black card at 5cm each and 4 in white card at 4.5cm.  Stamp the flowers onto the white card using a Memento ink pad and glue them onto the 4 black card squares adding a strip of adhesive to the back of the cards at the top of each black panel

Starting at the bottom score line, adhere each square to each score line on the yellow strip of card

Slot the long piece of yellow card behind the strip of black card and when you're happy with the position punch a hole at each end as well as your background card and secure with brads

Now place a strip of adhesive onto the black strip and secure the bottom panel onto it

Punch a hole into the bottom of the exposed yellow card, cut a small piece of ribbon, fold it over and punch another hole in that at the top.  Add a brad through the ribbon and into the yellow card and secure it

When you gently pull the ribbon and exposed the strip of yellow card you can, if you wish, stamp a sentiment on it at the top

Create a border around the card using a Micron pen in black (optional)

The sentiment stamped at the top of the yellow strip of card

Stamp a verse and an image (optional) in the corner of the insert

Should you wish stamp the same image in the corner of the envelope as shown above

Hi, welcome to my 'happy place'....

A colourful 'guy' card make today

I started with an A5 white card base and cut a smaller panel of red card.  I scored several horizontal lines to the bottom right of the card

Then I added a piece of coordinating paper to the left side of the card and wrapped twine around it, securing at the back of the red panel.  I adhered this to the card base

I cut 3 images from a set of 'male' papers and layered them onto white cardstock, mounting foam was added to the back then adhered to the card

I used a circle punch for a white border for the smaller image

The sentiment was stamped with 'onyx black' and heat embossed

I embossed a vertical pattern down one side of the envelope and stamped my 'Happy Mail' onto it

I typed a verse and used a punch to edge the insert

With the exception of the two tiny pearl brads all the elements are from the 12"x12"

Hi and welcome to my happy place....

I adore white on white cards!  This is a 6" square card base with a smaller panel of white card with a slightly smaller top panel

I pierced around the edge of the top panel then stamped and embossed the sentiment

I die cut several sizes of poinsettias, shaped them and added pearls to each of the centres

Strands of pearls were adhered to complete the card front

I stamped and embossed the verse and stars onto white cardstock, added a slightly larger panel of silver mirri and diagonally adhered it to the card base

I have a 6 box for this card and will decorate it at a later date

This is this week's freebie stamp

Hi, welcome to my happy place....

I thought a splash of colour would be appropriate with this miserable weather we're having!

I spritzed water onto a piece of watercolour card and tapped 2 Pixie Powders over the area I wanted colour.  I then blotted the excess water with a paper towel and heat dried the panel

If your card 'buckles' due to the wetness place it between a piece of copy paper and run it through your die cutting machine.  I use a Platinum machine and used the die cutting plates, once done your card should now be level

I layered the card onto a slightly larger panel of pearlised yellow card stock and then onto the base 5"x7" card

On a piece of the same yellow card I stamped the sentiment using a Distress Oxide ink, and, as it's a pigment ink, I heat embossed it with a clear embossing powder

Mounting foam was added to the back and adhered to the card

I used the first 4 dies (starting from the centre as number 1) to die cut the oval design onto the spare watercolour card, added glue and adhered it to the panel

I adhered 2 metal butterflies to the card front to complete the design

I stamped the short verse onto plain copy paper using the same Distress Ink then covered the left handside of the paper and spritzed a little water to two opposite corners, as shown above, and added the same two colours of Pixie Powders.  I followed the same procedure to dry the powders as above

To complete I used a scalloped punch on both edges of the insert and a pretty heart to the centre of the die cut piece of the card front

Hi and welcome to my happy place....

You may remember I made a batch of this type of card a little while ago, but without flowers

I inked a piece of card with 2 Distress Oxide Inks then added a white dots to it (I'm still searching for a make of pen that will show a definite white image, if you have/use one please let me know!)

I then die cut a butterfly from a smaller white panel, adhered the inked card to the die cut apeture prior to gluing this to the card base

From the same coloured background I die cut 'Happy Birthday' and adhered it to the bottom of the panel

Four panels of cardstock were layered onto both sides to the inside of the card, and a verse added as well as two swirls to the opposite side

You have until 6pm Friday to leave a comment on this post.  The winner will be announced on Saturday.  As you know it doesn't matter if you have won previously or where you live as we do ship internationally

Hi, welcome to my happy place....

I started with a white DL base card, added a patterned pink paper to it then another pale pink, paper to that.  All the edges were distressed on the top paper

The sentiment was stamped at the bottom right then the chipboard garden scene was adhered to the card

I made 2 flowers from pure white vellum, added 'worn lipstick' to the centres and across the petals then gave the petals a little shape.  These were adhered together with a pearl brad

I added a piece of the darker patterned paper to the little chipboard bird, went around the edge with a black pen and adhered it to the card

The largest flower was then adhered below the bird

I used a few strands of the 'clear gems on a wire' plus the tiny pink heart and the two tiny pink round gems completed the card front

I stamped the inside of the card, and the envelope, with the same Distress Oxide ink pad, but have yet to add a verse

On the envelope back I embossed the flap as well as stamping 'hello' using the same coloured ink pad

Hi, welcome to my happy place....

One of my sister in laws recently celebrated a 'special' birthday, this is the card I made for her and a mini album

I used a white A4 card base and scored it to give me an A5

I typed the sentiments on my computer

On a separate piece of white cardstock  I brushed a well diluted Pixie Powder over the card, let it dry and stamped the cocktail glass.  The top of the card was die cut for a 'fancy' edge

The strawberry was coloured with 3 ProMarkers, I covered the glass with NuVo Drops then added 'dollops' of Diamond Stickles to imitate bubbles

I used a corner punch on all 3 corners

Mounting foam was added to the main focal element then adhered to the card.  I used a black Micron pen to add a 'wavey' border and adhered a personal verse to the inside of the card

 The Album....

This cute little guy, out nephew, is now 17

The album is a trifold, with chipboard used for the front, back, centre and both spines, cut to size by my hubby

Mr F and I both love this particular photo of our nephew.  He's always loved sports and, up until approximately a year ago, was an avid footballer but has now turned his talents and passion to golf

I've left the page on the left blank in case my sister in law wants to use some of her own photos, I did add another photo to the bottom of this page

So cute!
The page on the right is also left blank as I don't have any photos of their grandson and thought my SIL would like to add some of her own

This photo is on the centre page of the album that, when the album is closed, is the inside of the back page
This page flips over.  I added a pocket, made 3 tags for further photographs to be adhered to them and tucked them inside the pocket
A waterfall design for this last page

The back of the album

  • white cardstock ~ CraftUK
  • Candy Pink Pixie Powder ~ Creative Expressions
  • Cocktail Glass stamp ~ gummiapan.com
  • NuVo Drops 'Morning Dew' ~ Tonic
  • Diamond Stickles ~ Ranger
