FESTIVE FRIDAY 21 - DO YOU RECYCLE?

Good morning crafters....

Do you recycle your old Christmas cards?  I keep the very 'special' ones, and if there are some that really take my eye I'll keep those in a box whilst the others go to one of the supermarkets for recycling

So whilst I was on a frantic search for my crop-o-dile (I've had this for 20 years plus and don't think I've ever used it!  Shocking I know but I do need it now) I then looked in another of my many craft boxes and found....

the front part of a card that I'd kept for numerous years I'm sure

I did reduce the size, rounded the corners, made a card base then adhered it to that

I used the sentiment stamp by Katy Sue Designs and heat embossed it with WOW Metallic Silver, and did the same for the tree.  The stars, from the same set, were also heat embossed with WOW Silver Bells embossing powder

I'm sure this is the first time I've actually used a recycled card after all these years of keeping them,  so I'm going to shred the others I have and be done with them

I have this lovely embossing folder, by Crafter's Companion, as this week's freebie

Leave me a comment to be entered into the draw, you have until 6pm Saturday and the winner will be announced on Sunday's blog

Until tomorrow....

June x

PS  I'm still looking for the crop-o-dile!

  3. I often recycle (if I think it will save time!) Think it is a great idea to be able to re-use something I have received and liked ! Love your example!

  4. Yes, recycling is good and it seems a waste not to use other people's handiwork - love what you have made !!

  5. Lovely card June. I too keep all the card fronts i like. Fussy cutting comes into its own for this type of thing.
To be honest? IF its good quality card i keep the back too aslong as it can be cut down and NOT have text in the middle of it.
"Mean" or "making best use of" - crafters would choose the second option and non crafters will choose the first! Xxx

  7. Think all crafters are thrifties and use cards that would otherwise be waisted, except the special ones. This card is really nice.

  8. I save cards too and always plan on using them but sadly I do not. I still have hope that one day I might. Thanks for the chance to win.

  9. I LOVE to recycle things! Believe it or not I really don't get a lot of cards! In our family we always say just put the money into the gift instead of into the card! But that is really a great idea! Your card is really cute! LOVE me some Christmas SPARKLE!!!!
