Good morning bloggers....

As the title states it's a new challenge for 'Team B' at MAWTT.  One of the new DTs, Debbie, who is hosting this challenge, has chosen the theme of 'wild animals', here is the link

if you would like to pay a visit and see the rest of the teams fabulous designs and, you're always welcome to join in the challenge

Elephants are my favourite animals and this is my contribution....

Who, I wonder has spotted any difference in the photos?

When you look at the first photo then the second a few birds are missing and here is why

On a post-it I used a large circle punch to give me a mask for the sun then placed it off centre on white cardstock

Using a peach ink by Hero Arts I began by adding lots of colour to the bottom half of the card, gradually fading the colour as I moved upwards on the card

The mask was then removed and two pieces of card were placed onto the inked card with only a very narrow piece of the card showing.  I then used 'spiced marmalade' distress oxide ink, to give me a horizon affect, once this was removed the rest of the 'spiced marmalade' was gently added to the bottom half of the sun

With the exception of one set of birds I used stamps from a papercraft magazine to stamp the images

I added a mat of grey card then black card onto the white card base and finally the finished image

Just as I was about to photo said image I noticed I'd smudged black ink on the left hand-side of the card.  I used a kraft knife and a mono eraser to remove the ink and was left with white card showing.  To rectify this I added my own hand drawn birds in flight.... card saved!

Morning ladies....

I need to apologise as last week's wins have yet to be posted, so sorry, this will be done tomorrow!

This week's card up for the taking, I always think blue and yellow look good together.  The first picture is a tad too bright!

I used the blue NUVO Drops for the 3 gems and the yellow for the flower centres

The card inside is left blank for the winner to add their own words

Leave a comment on this post if you would like to be in the draw.  You have until 6pm Friday to comment and the winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post

We ship internationally at our expense too

Morning bloggers....

Did you have rain yesterday!  We had a bit of a downpour last night, ideal for the gardens and wild life

I used a Sizzix stencil for the main part of today's card and 'wilted violet' distress ink applied over it

The decorated card was then added to a slightly larger purple cardstock and a silver ribbon wrapped around it

The base card was embossed then I adhered the main focal point onto the base

The sentiment was stamped onto the same purple cardstock and heat embossed with  WOW metallic silver embossing powder

I arranged the tiny purple flowers before I added them to the card.  If this was to be posted the flowers can be laid flat

I also ran my blending tool down both sides of the base card as it still had enough ink on it after applying it to the stencil

Until tomorrow....

Morning ladies....

A video was made for today's post, using Windows 10.  After several cuts etc the first card was fully edited to a short video of 4 minutes but then 'we' (hubby was responsible I kid you not) lost it and it is now floating somewhere in the dark abyss of the new Windows 10 computer

So without further ado here is card number 1.... apologies as it is a little blurred

It's a 5"x7" card, top folding.  The gloss card I stamped the image and one sentiment on was from the Tim Holtz packaging for tiny white flowers, I used those recently on a baby mini album

The image was stamped and heat embossed, the identical sentiments were only stamped

I added the black twine around the card and taped the end pieces to the back of the card then adhered it to the card base

I then stamped the second 'happy birthday' sentiment on the side of the card

I added white card to kraft card on the inside and stamped a short sentiment

Our grandson has received an excellent school report, you may remember he and his mother relocated to Bournemouth two weeks before Christmas.  So we have very proud parents and grandparents as you can imagine

I've made him this card to add to a little parcel we're sending him

The base card came from one of my 'scrap' boxes, it had the 3 tags already on it but where the semi-circular dies are was a big splodge of white card

I used more scrap card to die cut the circles and glued them together.  The two sentiments were stamped, the one of the tag was stamped and heat embossed

I am going to write a note to Max on the inside of the card

  • brown gloss patterned card ~ Tim Holtz packaging
  • car stamp ~  JustRite 'Going Places Vintage Labels CL-03740
  • sentiment stamp ~ JustRite 'Royal Antique Labels One' CL-03840
  • twine ~ Creative Expressions
  • kraft card ~ my stash
  • pierced tags ~ CE
  • round dies ~ CE
  • sentiments ~ ?Woodware

Good morning bloggers....

A shabby chic card today with just about everything thrown at it!!

It's a 6" square card, top folding.  I've added inks, lace, paper, vellum, flowers, chipboard pieces, other embellishments and glitter all from my stash

I used the sentiment stamp and one of the other festive stamps from Tonic's Craft Kit 11 for the inside

I also embossed the flap part of the envelope and stamped the mini Christmas tree on the envelope front

Today's give-away is the 'starburst baubles' and 'mini bow' stamp by Chloe

Leave a comment on this post for your name to be entered into the draw, you have until 6pm Saturday to comment and the winner will be announced on Sunday's blog

Morning ladies....

I used a 3D embossing folder by Sheena Douglass for this card then, using an ink blending tool (Ranger) I added 'tattered rose' distress ink to the card

I also went over the roses and leaves with a Wink Of Stella in gold, I'm so sorry you can't see the gorgeous, subtle effect it gives and the card is so pretty 'in the flesh'

I heat embossed the 'hello' sentiment

For this card I used an embossing folder by CoutureCreations, and debossed the design, then, again using a blending tool, added Tonic's Mousse in 'Aloe Vera' to the embossed card

A frame was die cut 4 times, adhered together and glued to the card at a 'jaunty angle' some Tonic sequins added then the sentiment was also die cut 4 times, with the top layer having glitter jewels added to it

Back to Sheena's embossing folder again for this last card, and it's another one that looks much nicer in the hand!

After the card was embossed I added Adirondack ink in 'caramel' over the image.  I also used 'Wink Of Stella' too

This, like the above two, was adhered to a slightly larger black panel card, but, for some reason the black started to come through on this card, hence, the sentiment being stamped where it is and the 3 black gems being placed at the bottom!

Until tomorrow....

Morning ladies....

I love black cards and when teamed with aqua  it's one of my favourite combinations (I know I have quite a few 'favourites)

This is a 5"x7", one single rose and leaves die cut using John Next Door's 'Starflower Leaves' die set then a simple 'happy birthday' die cut in white card

I used NUVO drops gloss in 'Duck Egg Blue' as a finishing touch to the card front

Inside the card is left empty as the winner can add their own words

You have until 6pm Friday to leave a comment on this post if you would like your name entered into the draw.  Random Name Picker will choose the winner and it will be posted on Saturday's blog

Morning Bloggers....

I've been playing with acrylic paints after watching a YouTube video ( will link below) and whilst I have very limited colours I enjoyed creating quite a few backgrounds, 9 in total from 3 sheets of A4 card

There would have been a video but hubby is installing Windows 10 for me on a new computer (I'm dreading having to use it lol) plus a video editing programme, not before time say I

So onto today's card

I added 4 'dollops' of different colours of acrylic paint onto a piece of white cardstock then I used a small plastic ruler to draw/pull across the card

With the remaining colour on the ruler I repeated the technique onto another piece of card and actually managed to add more onto a third piece of cardstock.  These paints do not take long to dry
and I've now got another 8.5 left to use at a later date

I created a frame by die cutting white card 4 times and gluing these together, I also die cut the trellis on white card too and adhered this to the background card

Top Tip:  keep your packaging to use instead of mounting foam, these pieces can be cut to size and adhered to your card base ....   I have done this on today's card

On a 6" square card I stamped the sentiment  then adhered the decorated piece to the card then added the frame to it

Using the left-over card from the background I die cut several flowers but to make them stand out a little from the same background piece I went around the edges of each petal with a black ProMarker.  I did omit doing this on the tiny flower

The flowers were shaped and glued together with a pearl added to each centre

I love each and everyone of the NUVO Crystal Drops collection, so as there was pieces of blue in the background and flowers I used the gloss drops in 'Blue Babe'

Two of the acrylic paints used are pearl and you do get a gorgeous sheen to the finished piece

  • Periwinkle, Azure Blue & Raspberry Acrylic Paint ~ as above

Morning ladies....

I'm taking this opportunity to show you the completed box I made for the mini wedding album shown yesterday

If you did watch the video, you'll remember that I didn't like how I'd placed some roses on one of the pages, directly opposite other roses.   I've now rectified this and I'm a lot happier on how it looks.  I also inserted 2 photo mats per page so there is plenty of space for photos in this little 6" square album

The reason I added the blue rose is because I was told that blue is part of the wedding ensemble

Until tomorrow....

Good Sunday morning ladies....

I made this mini, mini wedding album for one of my best friend's daughter's wedding.  I say mini mini because it's only 6" square with 6 pages.  I know the happy couple will have their own wedding album but this is our gift to them

The album front  may look dark, it isn't in the flesh, and the pretty primrose coloured card may look a little neon but, that too isn't!  One day my photography may improve!  As soon as you click on the video you do see the exact colour

I hope you enjoy the video!

Good morning ladies....

This is such a very quick and easy card to make and I'm sure you will have your own supplies should you wish to replicate it or tweak it to your liking.  And, if I may mention.... ideal for batch making!

Using a 6" square card base with pre-scalloped edges I die cut the front portion using one of the dies from Tonic's Craft Kit 11, it's just the right size for 6" cards

Next step was to adhere the paper to the card inside and also stamp a sentiment

I die cut 3 flower heads using the cut off piece from the card and scored the centre of each petal

Ribbon was adhered to the back of the flowers, and had my flower wires not been downstairs I would have used those lol

Flowers positioned in place, ribbons secured and a little bow, made with the same ribbon, was adhered to the 'stems'

To complete I added Nuvo Crystal Drops 'Antique Rose' to the flower centres

and now for the card winner....

Morning ladies....

I have used a few elements from Tonic Craft Kit 11 for this card, namely the die, sentiment, snowflakes and the gorgeous red paper that isn't showing too well on this picture

The red NUVO drops I had already

I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and snowflakes using WOW 'Silver Bells' Embossing Powder

I used one of the curved dies from the pack to die cut the middle portion of the paper, heat embossed the sentiment (not Tonic) and the snowflakes

This gorgeous paper is actually the back as I had to adhere the front of it on the card inside to show through.  The front has a lovely sheen, you'll see this on another card no doubt!

This 'Netted Bow' stamp set is the freebie this week.  If you don't have the coordinating die set these 4 stamps are easy to cut by hand

Leave a comment by 6pm Saturday if you would like your name to go into the draw, winner announced on Sunday's blog

Morning ladies....

I was working with stencils a little while ago and had some of  the 'zig zag' card left over so decided to use it and see what I could make.  Because of the design I deliberately cut different widths of the black card, so that it wouldn't be uniform, even though doing this is totally out of my 'comfort/a little OCD zone' lol

The colours used on the stencil I used again on white card stock then die cut the 'HI' plus 2 more die cuts on black card and glued them together but leaving a little black shadow

The 'good luck' was stamped straight onto the card

  • white and black card ~ my stash
  • distress oxide inks in cracked pistachio, fossilized amber, worn lipstick ~ Ranger
  • large letter dies ~ Xcut
