A FLURRY OF BUTTERFLIES

Hello and welcome....

This is a quick way to add to your 'go to' card collection, especially when you need a card in a hurry!

The white base card is 5"x7" and I cut a smaller white panel for the top piece

I die cut the butterfly on all 4 pieces of card

For the pink background I used another piece of the marble effect card I made a few days ago and on the sentiment stamp I used two coloured inks on the stamp

On the blue/green image I coloured a piece of white card with 3 distress oxide inks, die cut the sentiment and added the remainder of the card behind the butterfly silhouette then added white dots onto it
For the card on the left I coloured another piece of white card with 2 distress oxide inks and followed the same procedure as above but adding small black dots to the background and sentiment

I used a pretty blue paper for the last card and the same paper for the sentiment

Flat back pearls were added to all butterflies

INGREDIENTS:

  • White card base ~ CraftUK
  • White card ~ Papermill Direct
  • Magical Butterflies Die Set ~ Creative Expressions CED1415
  • Distress Oxide Inks:  broken china, cracked pistachio, faded jeans, fossilized amber, spiced marmalade ~ Ranger
  • Happy Birthday Die ~ Creative Expressions
  • Flat back pearls ~ my stash
  • Platinum Machine ~ Spellbinders

YOU ARE SPECIAL - TWO TIER TECHNIQUE

Hello and welcome....

As the title states, this is a 'two tier technique'

The card base is a white 5"x7" with a slightly smaller panel of grey card

I die cut the sentiment twice using black card stock then the using the pretty paper once more

The paper was then adhered to the card base and I glued the 3 die cuts together, leaving a little shadow of the grey card, and slotted the die cut back into the card base

I've not yet added an insert, I've a few birthdays coming up so may use this card for one of them
INGREDIENTS:

  • white card base ~ CraftUK
  • grey card ~ my stash
  • pretty paper ~ my stash
  • die ~ Expressions Creative Expressions CED5412
  • Platinum Machine ~ Spellbinders

WEDNESDAY FREEBIE CARD

Hello and welcome....

Today's 'freebie' card is a white based 5"x7".  I added a smaller white panel then a smaller decorative paper

Using another piece of white cardstock as a centre panel I die cut it on both sides

The sentiment was stamped and embossed and mounting foam added to the back of the panel then adhered to the card base

I die cut the flowers using 2 pieces of the marbling cardstock I made for yesterday's tutorial and white cardstock for the leaves.  I dabbed glue onto the leaves and sprinkled glitter jewels over them

I used one of the set of 3 border dies for the card insert.  This is left blank for the winner to add their own words

INGREDIENTS:

  • 5"x7" white card ~ CraftUK
  • patterned paper ~ my stash
  • 3 metal borders die set ~ Crafter's Companion
  • Sentiment ~ Creative Expressions (CE)

TUESDAY TUTORIAL - MARBLING WITH ALCOHOL INKS

Hello and welcome....

I've used alcohol inks and water to create this 'marble' affect background

I added a little glitter to the flowers and the leaves and whilst you can only see a little of it shine it does look lovely 'in the flesh'

You'll see the backgrounds created on future cards as well as using them for flowers

Until tomorrow....

NEW CHALLENGE AT CRAFTY CARDMAKERS BLOG ~ #203 BLING'S THE THING

Hi, thank you for stopping by....

I used one of the new embossing and die cutting folders by John Next Door and I added bling to the swirls then around the heart.  The heart shape that was die cut I adhered to the inside of the card and used a larger size of bling to decorate that

When you have a moment take a visit to see the fabulous designs from the rest of the design team

Good evening!!  Thank you for stopping by....

When closed this is a pretty pink, 14cm x 12cm card

The front panels were die cut

I added white card to the centre and stamped a verse

Pink flowers and white leaves were also die cut and adhered to the white panel

I added a narrow piece of white ribbon to close the card and if posting the card front will lie flat

The second card was created the same way using aqua cardstock and a different die

I made a double top folding insert, die cut the sentiment 3 times and glued them together then adhered to the front of the insert

  • Aqua and pink cardstock ~ Creative Expressions (CE)
  • White cardstock ~ Papermill Direct
  • Cathedral Background Die ~ CE CED7101
