FAUX FESTIVE FRIDAY 7

Hi, welcome to my 'happy place'....

I love when I find items/cards that I made/used a while back and had forgotten about them and this card is one example

I've called it 'faux' festive because, by adding the right sentiment,  it could be a Christmas card, or, it could also be a birthday card for someone who has a 'winter' birthday

It's an ivory, 5"x7" card, top folding, with a smaller panel of black cardstock.  I've used a spray glitter on both the base card and the panel

The scene has been stamped onto the same ivory card, but, prior to stamping, I've distressed the edges, then stamped the image and adhered to the card base then.... put it away (for at least 3 years! LOL)

To give it a bit of life I ran a glue pen on the trees and around the edge of the water then sprinkled Glitter Jewels over the adhesive.  You can see this more so on the card below.  When the light catches the 'glitter jewels' it does look lovely

So there you have my 'faux festive card' (the cards will become more elaborate in time

You can see more of the glitter jewels on this photograph

For some unknown reason I have ended up with two of the above die sets so if you would like to win this set of 11 dies, just leave me a comment on this post and the winner will be announced on Sunday's blog

INGREDIENTS:
  • ivory card ~ CraftUK
  • black card ~ my stash
  • spray glitter ~ Crafter's Companion
  • stamp ~ unknown
  • Nuvo glue pen ~ Tonic Studios UK
  • glitter jewels ~ Creative Expressions

IF FRIENDS WERE FLOWERS

Hi, welcome to my 'happy place'....

A very easy make for today's card!

I started with an 8" square, white card base and added a smaller panel of black card, then added this beautiful paper onto the black card

The ribbon and stamped sentiment are not as bright as they appear on the photograph!

The sentiment was stamped and embossed and the ribbon was added, I made 2 'fold-overs' on the ribbon then added the strips of pearls as well as on the centres of the 2 main flowers

I used a paper punch for the decorative edge and added another length of the ribbon behind it (I wish it didn't look so red on here LOL)

INGREDIENTS:
  • 8" white base card ~ CraftUK
  • black card ~ my stash
  • patterned paper ~ my stash
  • fuchsia ribbon ~ Club Green
  • sentiment stamp ~ Creative Expressions
  • fuchsia embossing powder ~ unknown
  • pearls ~ CE
  • paper punch ~ Martha Stewart
I have changed the font for an easier read as one follower had mentioned she struggled with the smaller print

Instead of a stamp tomorrow I have a die set as a give-away, hope to see you then

Until tomorrow....

WEDNESDAY WEEKLY CARD GIVE-AWAY WITH DOUBLE DELIGHTS ADORE AND ACETATE

Hi, welcome to my 'happy place'....

Using acetate, this way as a card front, gives the impression that either the sentiment and the bottom die cut is 'floating' or, the sentiment is actually on the back/inside of the card

As you can see it is on the card front.  I tweaked the acetate to give a clearer look

I love this shade of pearlised aqua card.  I cut a piece of the card to measure 5.75" x 6.75" (17cm x 14.5cm) and scored the top of the card  at 1", to give me a  (2.5cm) border at the top of the card to glue the acetate in place

Once the top of the acetate was securely adhered to the base of the card the next step was to die cut 2  of the 'double delights adore die'.  These were adhered onto the acetate

The sentiment was die cut 3 times, using the aqua card, but I wanted to have a contrast, and when you look at the back of the acetate, below, you see that I've used the same aqua card

A verse can easily be stamped onto the very back of the card

If you would like to give this card a new home all you need to do is leave me a comment on today's post, you have until 6pm Friday and the winner will be announced on Saturday's post

Please do not leave 'annonymous' if you want to be in the draw, I do need some kind of identification, nickname, initials, Betty from Burnley etc etc

It does not matter if you have won in the past or where you live as we ship internationally

We also use Random.org Name Picker to choose the winner

INGREDIENTS:
  • pearlised aqua card ~ Crafter's Companion (CC)
  • acetate ~ CC
  • Double Delights Adore Die ~ Tattered Lace

MAN MONDAY!

Hi, welcome to my 'happy place'....

This is another background using the PVA glue, not everyone's cup of tea but I really like it and, I think, an ideal male card, even as a female card with a couple of adaptions!

I made several of the backgrounds, using different colours of glue, one of which is a glitter

It's a 6" square card and I left a border down each side

Three dies were used on the white card to create the horizontal border and, as you'll see on the photo below I did use 5 of the 'candi' pieces, didn't like how it looked when I photographed it so I removed one from each end

The sentiment was stamped onto white cardstock then die cut.  I used double foam mount so that the sentiment would stand proud of the border

Sorry about the glare!

WITH LOVE

Hi, welcome to my 'happy place'....

On sorting one of my many craft boxes I came across this card, without the centre die cut piece.  Even though mirror card is involved (you know how I can never get a true photo with mirri) I love aqua colours and decided I would finish the card for today's post

It's a 5"x7" top folding white card base with a smaller panel of an unidentifiable colour, although I've obviously inked the edges with a bluey/aqua ink pad, then added the aqua paper.  The stars on this paper are a silvery gold whilst the paper used for the centre piece has white stars

The die is 'Botanical Swirls' and is one that has an expandable pattern, so you can make it larger if you so wish, and I used this on gold mirror card Ribbon was added before it was adhered to the base card
I used the top die (photo at the bottom) for the centre piece and die cut it from the aqua paper

I also found several tiny 'with love' sentiments in the box and, with this one, I made 'fish tail' cuts to the sentiment and the same on white vellum, adhered the sentiment to the vellum and added a tiny aqua dot either side on the vellum.  These dots were the off-cuts from the die
I added two strips of the same paper to the insert on the card and another strip on the envelope
