FIVE MINUTE CARD MAKE AND CARD WINNER

Morning bloggers....

What about this sweet card for today's make?

I started with a white 5"x7" card base and embossed a smaller panel on white card

The sentiment was stamped using an onyx black ink pad and heat embossed with a clear embossing powder then die cut and mounting foam added to the back

The flowers are by Wild Orchard Crafts, I removed some of the petals and leaves from one flower only

I made the stick pins and secured them safely behind the flowers

Whilst the coloured card looks lemon (I think it looks more lemon than peach)  it is classed as peach and is much paler than the roses

I added the birthday wishes to the right side as I don't know if I will be sending this to someone, so I would write a message/note on the right side, or adding it to my box of donation cards

INGREDIENTS:

  • white card base ~ CraftUK
  • peach card ~ Creative Expressions
  • embossing folder ~ Couture creations 'Trellis'
  • sentiment stamp ~ my stash
  • roses ~ Wild Orchard Crafts
  • stick pins ~ Poppyfield Card Crafts
  • Platinum Machine ~ Spellbinders

and now for the card winner....

FESTIVE FRIDAY 16 & STAMP GIVE-AWAY

Hello and welcome....

It's the dreaded mirror card again! lol, but big thank you to Mr F who took this first photograph for me, without one shadow or reflection and a steady hand!

And, it's another easy card make by using some glitter and an embossed final panel.  With this one I added the red berries using NUVO Crystal Drops in Red Berry by Tonic

I started with a 5"x7" white card base then added narrow double sided tape  to form a border and sprinkled Cosmic Shimmer Polished Silk Glitter in Ice Blue over the tape.  This is an ideal way to make your glitters last longer, and, although it was the 'ice blue' glitter it work so well with the green mirri card!

If you haven't tried the polished silk glitter, by Creative Expressions, I would encourage you to do so as it's so different from 'ordinary' glitter, it really is so polished!

The green mirri card was cut to fit the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, I've had this 'nameless' folder forever and a day, it does emboss beautifully

I stamped the sentiment using Versa Color '21 Green' and completed the card front by adding NUVO Crystal Drops in Red Berry.  As an alternative you could add tiny red gems or nothing at all as it looks pretty 'naked'

White on white, with just a pop of colour for the sentiment.
You can really see the gorgeous detail with this embossing folder

I added a piece of double sided adhesive sheet onto the white card then embossed it....  on the wrong side, hence a debossed image, it would have looked much better on the embossed side!

On the embossed image I used a Clarity brush and added peeled paint distress ink over the image, then I watered a little black Gesso and added splatters as well as adding a few little dots of berry red with a ProMarker

I also used the peeled paint distress ink to stamp the sentiment

The green card is quite thick and you can't really see the scored lines I made down the left side and along the bottom area

For this week's give-away I have a set of Christmas toppers by Flower Soft, there are 23 toppers in the pack and a small fancy flower stamp by Chloe

You have until 6pm Saturday to leave a comment on today's post if you would like to be entered into the draw

The winner will be announced on Sunday's blog

CARD COMMISSION ~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVIE

Morning bloggers....

First things first, a new challenge starts today at MAWTT, this one has Christine as its host as well as the ladies from Team A.  The challenge is scheduled to show at 9am so why not take a look and see what the DTs have created, you may want to join in the challenge too

This is the link:  Moving Along With The Times

I was asked to make a card for a two year old and already had the front of this card decorated, although minus the glittered 2.  Some of you may remember seeing these papers on the first mini album I made, for a baby boy, named Thomas.  I think the paper pad is called 'Oh Baby' the video is at the bottom of this post if you want to have a look, the papers are so gorgeous

I already had the papers inserted inside the card and two tags, although they were not suitable for this occasion so I added larger tags to cover the original ones then a smaller tag on top of those with a personal greeting. I added some Glitter Jewels around the edge of the circular '2 today!'  The balloon was also an extra

INGREDIENTS:

  • white card base ~ Papermill Direct
  • design papers ~ 'Oh Baby' 12"x12" Paper Pad Collection
  • polished silk glitter & glitter jewels ~ Creative Expressions
  • mini brads ~ Hobby House
  • balloon die ~ Elizabeth Craft Designs

WEDNESDAY WEEKLY CARD GIVE-AWAY

Hello and welcome....

Card base is an 8" square then matts of antique gold and white card added to the base card

I then cut a piece of acetate to 6" square, then added a piece of double sided adhesive sheet to it, removed the backing and added Mulled Wine Gilding Flakes to it.  These were burnished in using a piece of  'rub it scrub it'

This piece was then embossed using the Art Deco Fanfare Embossing Folder

I die cut 2 pieces of white card using the Lavish Swirls Die Set and adhered them across the gilding flakes

Using the outer cutting die and the larger die from the New Zealand Collection 'Hamilton' I die cut and embossed them onto white card

Using the outer cutting die, from the same set, I die cut another piece of the antique gold card

The sentiment was stamped with a clear embossing pad, metallic gold rich embossing powder, by WOW, sprinkled over the stamped image, excess powder removed and the sentiment was then heat set prior to adhering onto the antique gold card

I added a panel of antique gold card then a smaller panel of white card to the inside

I purposely didn't add any flowers to the card because I think this could also pass for a man's card.  Whoever wins this may choose to add their own flowers.  If you do may I suggest white flowers?

Leave a comment on this post if you'd like your name to be added to the draw, which closes at 6pm Friday and the winner will be announced on Saturday's blog

INGREDIENTS:

  • white card base - CraftUK
  • double sided adhesive sheet - Papermill Direct
  • all other highlighted materials are by Creative Expressions
Until tomorrow....

TUESDAY TUTORIAL - HELLO NOTELET CARD

Hello and welcome, I hope you've had a lovely Bank Holiday break and enjoyed the gorgeous sunshine

Cut a piece of A4 white card, in half, length ways, to create a 5"x4" base for the notelet card

Using the first and second die place them onto Primrose card  and run them through your die cutting machine, repeat 3 or 4 times to give you a border once you've glued them together

On primrose card and using the 2 largest dies, from the A2 Matting Basics B, run these through your die cutting machine 3 or 4 times then glue together

There are 4 dies in the Brisbane Die Set, don't use the circular die, and place the remaining 3 dies onto the primrose card and die cut

Die cut the lower case alphabet, on the coloured card, twice, to give you the word 'hello'.  You could always die cut it another time, on black cardstock, to give you a 'shadow effect' on the 'hello'

Place the smallest square die onto the centre of the base card and run it through your machine

Apply glue to the back of the die cut and adhere to the inside of the card and position it so it is central on the card base

Now adhere the largest frame onto the card then the smaller one around the cut out piece so it frames the focal point

Apply glue to the letters and position onto the card then, should you wish, apply 3 tiny dots of glue and place the small round die cut circles onto the card to complete

INGREDIENTS:
  • white card ~ Papermill Direct
  • coloured card, square die set, Brisbane Die Set & alphabet die set ~ CE
  • Matting Basics B Die Set ~ Spellbinders
  • Platinum Machine ~ Spellbinders
