WORKING CANDY MACHINE & CARD WINNER

Morning blog friends....

My great nephew is 5 today and I thought he would like this working candy machine.  It is refillable too, so that will keep his parents busy :)

I actually had this made already but it was in pink so I used the metallic gilding polish in 'red bronze' (Creative Expressions) to cover the pink and it worked a treat.  This paste does give excellent coverage and dries very quickly

It is also excellent for covering white card to your choice of colour and it won't 'buckle' the cardstock

I filled the machine with M&Ms and when Jack eats half the quantity there is a message inside the machine as shown below.... somehow I don't think he'll be bothered about that LOL

The sentiment is also by Creative Expressions and I already had letters die cut. With some left over card I will either die cut letters/numbers or make flowers/leaves.  I used the small boxes that come in a housing case and store the numbers and letters for future use

FESTIVE FRIDAY 35

Morning blog friends

Silver Christmas tree by Memory Box and lots of glitter in the background for today's make and a cute die set waiting to go to a new home!

The card below has been decorated with the freebie die set, the set is new and unused as I already have one

If you only die cut the body of the snowman, in brown coloured card stock,  emboss it with a folder that has a snow scene and add a few holly leaves on the top, you will have a nice Christmas pudding

The stamped envelope and tree inside the card

Leave a comment on this post by 6pm Saturday if you would like your name added to the draw for the die set

Until tomorrow....

ANOTHER FAUX LEATHER FOR THE MEN

Morning bloggers....

Please excuse this short post and possibly the card!  I had the card 'half finished' but, yesterday we were at a funeral of a close neighbour who died very suddenly, that was a terrible shock and what a time to have chronic back pain too.  I have a very high pain threshold but this has made me shout out with the pain, not in church I must add!

So back to the card, it's another way to create faux leather using masking tape and I had glued the cogs in place and was waiting for inspiration on how to finish the card, so I added the chain clasp and hubby die cut the letter for me, five times, glued it together and I added it to the card.  You still may see this some other time with a more finished detail

So that's it from me today, hopefully with a not so pained back tomorrow!

Morning blog friends....

I've used more elements from Heartfelt Creations's Arianna Blooms 12"x12" paper pad and, with only the addition of 3 drops of NUVO Crystal Drops in 'Bubblegum Blush'!

I stamped the Happy Birthday on the inside of the card.  I love the font on this stamp, it's from an old stamp set by Creative Expressions

If you would like to give this card a new home then please leave me a message on this post.  You have until 6pm Friday to do so and the winner will be announced on Saturday's blog

USING HALF FINISHED CARD DESIGNS!

Morning blog friends....

I'm sure
you will remember this card, without the cluster of flowers, from a previous post and video?  I had one 'base card' left over from the several I made for the video and rather than put it in another 'card to finish' folder I thought I would dress the front and that would be another card completed

And such an easy way to to dress the card as the only item I made was the one larger leaf and that was in my small container that I keep on my work table!

The small cluster of white flowers are by Ranger.  I use these mostly in the making of mini albums and you can easily add colour to them if you wish

The two frosted balls are from Swedish House Crafts and the peach flower is by Wild Orchid Crafts

I added a good dollop of 3D glue, by Crafter's Companion, onto the card, gently opened the white cluster of flowers and placed them in the glue, the frosted balls were next, then the rose and, finally, the single leaf

Ideally I would have liked a scripted die saying 'Love' which I would have added but unfortunately I actually don't have one, so I am now on the look-out for one of these

Until tomorrow....

CREATIVE STAMPING MAGAZINE ISSUE 62

Good Sunday morning....

I think today's card is a good one for the males

My magazine was only delivered yesterday so I thought I would do a make using a few of the stamps.  This time the stamps are by Sheena Douglass, so you know they are a good quality stamp to use

I used an ivory 7" card and for all the stamping and colouring I used Distress Oxides

I started by stamping the image onto white card (from my left over pieces) and fussy cut it to use as a mask.  I then stamped the image onto the ivory card, covered it with the mask and used my ink dusters and distress inks to create the two tone background

I used fossilized amber and vintage photo to colour the bird and a Paper Mate pencil

Tonic's square die set was used to make a border.  I made two die cuts and glued them together

I used the centres of the dies to adhere to the inside of the card

I stamped off the page with the tree and used the same 'happy birthday' sentiment, as on the card front, for the inside

I used a nearly dry flat brush to create a lighter background on the sentiment by very gently brushing over it as soon as I'd stamped it

To complete I stamped part of the tree set onto the envelope

I will be showing more cards made with these stamps as soon as possible

INGREDIENTS:
  • Creative Stamping Magazine Issue 62
  • Distress Oxide Inks/ fossilized amber, iced spruc, vintage photo and wild honey - Ranger
  • Square Die Set - Tonic
