A daily insight to my card designs, tutorials, videos and tips.
If somebody tells you that you have enough craft supplies and you don't need anymore... stop talking to them! You don't need that kind of negativity in your life!
Hello everyone.... I seem to be having technical problems with this blog. My 'follow' button and followers have disappeared! I am able to post my daily card thankfully so I hope 'it' rights itself soon!!!
I really like a red and gold combo.... with white as a contrast!
I used elements from the Shadow Box Collection , added polished glitter to the stocking top, die cut 'son' and mounted that onto, yes, mirror card, hence the black shadow!! I'm a glutton for punishment with this mirri card LOL. It is red without an ounce of black anywhere!

It would be good to see you visit tomorrow for the Saturday freebie card plus stamp
A new challenge for Team B starts today at Moving Along With The Times (MAWTT), the lovely Hazel is hosting this and her theme is:
'Add A Charm Or Tag'
We hope that you'll join in with us and let us see what you can design. Please take a stroll over to the MAWTT Blog and see the stunning creations from the rest of the team.
This is my contribution....
I first embossed a panel of white watercolour card then sprinkled 3 different Pixie Powders over the embossed image, spritzed with water and let it dry overnight
I realise that the pattern on each bauble is not clear on the photograph but is in 'the flesh'
I wanted to create a 'distressed look' with this card and whilst it doesn't appeal to everyone (and I used to be one of those people) I must say that I now really enjoy making this kind of 'look' LOL
I highlighted the outer part of the baubles with a gold paint pen then splattered gold liquid onto the card, one of the 'splats' landed right in the centre of a bauble, couldn't have done that had I tried to, so I dabbed gold onto the other centres
I adhered this panel onto a thin darker blue panel and then onto my DL base card
I completed the card by adding a 'Christmas stocking charm' to the top left of the card
Watercolour card ~ Crafter's Companion
Blue card ~ my stash
DL card ~ Woodware
Pixie Powders: Midnight Blue, Aqua Lagoon, Peacock Green ~ Creative Expressions
A warm welcome to two new followers, Max and Greg. Thank you for clicking the 'follow' button
I used a 5" square (CraftUK), white card base for this commission card and stamped (my stash) the baby's clothes onto white card stock, coloured them with water colour pencils (Derwent) then blended the colour using a damp brush and 'fussy' cut them out
To the card base I added 2 'clothes posts and a washing line, added tufts of grass to the bottom of the posts then gently added a few 'scribbled lines' with a green water colour pencil so that they didn't look as if they were floating mid air
I added mounting foam to the back of the baby grow whilst the bib and socks were adhered to the card flat
The sentiment ('Welcome Little' One Die Set - Creative Expressions) was die cut 3 times, glued together then glued onto a small piece of white card stock that had mounting foam added to the back. I ran a blending too,l that already had 'broken china' on it, over the lettering then adhered it to the card. To finish the card I ran double lines around the edge of the card to give it a 'frame'
I started with a 5"x7" white card and taped around the whole card to give me a nice, clean border when removed
I used 3 Distress Oxide Inks, but you can use any make you have. I love these particular inks as they blend so well and the finished result is excellent.
I used 'worn lipstick', 'spiced marmalade' & 'cracked pistachio' then, using a blending tool, applied the inks onto the card
Once the card was coloured I removed the 'easy lift off' tape to reveal a clean, white border
From the 'Perspective' Range by Creative Expressions, I die cut 'LOVE' three times on white card then once on brown, to give me a shadow affect, the 'YOU' twice on white and once on brown
I then glued them together, adding the white onto the brown but slightly overlapping, for a shadow, applied more Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue to the back of each word and adhered to the card front
I cut another piece of white card, a little smaller than the original 5"x7" and coloured it to match the card front. I dried the inks with my heat tool then stamped a verse using a Versafine Ink Pad in Onyx Black. Double sided tape was applied to the back prior to adding it to the card
You could use a combination of blues, greens, greys, browns etc which also would be ideal for the 'male' card
The design was already printed on the paper, I added more colour, with distress markers by Ranger to all the greenery, some turquoise blue to the water, gave the heron and smaller butterfly some colour too
I coloured the larger butterfly, added a little fine gold glitter by WOW then covered it with Ranger's Glossy Accents
I also used glossy accents on various areas on the greenery
The sentiment was stamped with a Versafine Onyx Black ink pad and matted onto white card that had 3D mounting foam added to the back
I used a Wink of Stella Glitter Pen to several areas once the card was completed
I hope to get a suitable picture frame to fit this as I'd like to hang it in my studio
