Hello and thanks for stopping by....

These weeks are flying by!

A circular festive card for today's offering, in blue and white card stock, I used a circular die (CE) to create the card base then used the Falling Snow Embossing Folder (CE) for the blue base card and the Mistletoe Moments (CC) for the white card stock.  A die by Amy Designs for the filigree circle, the deer is by Memory Box and I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment with Metallic Silver Embossing Powder (WOW) to finish the card.  The deer, sentiment and filigree circle was die cut on pure white vellum (Woodware)

Until tomorrow....

Hello and thanks for stopping by....

A cute card made with elements from Creative Stamping Magazine  Issue 50

I don't make a lot of 'this type' of card, but, they are  cute and it is good to have some in your stock for that 'just in case I need a card' moment.  Our crafty friends across the pond tend to make these 'cute' cards more so

Instead of stamping the bear onto white card I chose to use a pale 'mottled' blue paper and stamped it and the best wishes with a  Versafine Onyx Black Ink Pad

Before I did any stamping I used my EK anti-static tool over all the paper then stamped the Happy Birthday around the edges

I the used one of the jumpers from the gift set and stamped it onto the bear.  I used two Distress Markers, 'mowed lawn' and 'worn lipstick' to colours some of the circles on the sweater and just the 'worn lipstick' on the ears and feet

I did cover the face, paws and the little bit of the body that's visible with Cosmic Shimmer Sparkle Texture Paste in 'Polar White' but it didn't show too well so I added Flower Soft in white on top of it and I do like the finished result

I also stamped one corner of the envelope, as you can see above and used the same stamp for inside the card as well as the corner star stamp and the birthday parcel

There are over 30 stamps with this magazine and, of course, there are plenty of ideas for your own card makes plus competitions and information regarding new products

Papercraft Essentials Issue 153 With Poppyfield Card Crafts

Hello and thanks for stopping by....
On yesterday's post I showed you one of the cards I made with the free gift from Papercraft Essentials Issue 153

The video shows you in detail how I made a similar card as well as two more cards
Please bear with me for these videos, it's blatantly obvious I'm a newbie but my team (husband and grandson whose 9 and has his own YouTube Channel) are working on it.... with a bit of luck it can only get better

Excuse my head!

Until tomorrow....

Hello and thanks for stopping by....

As I'm attempting to catch up on everything in blog land I'm sure you'll understand that there isn't a detailed tutorial today, but, there will be a YouTube Video and I'll confirm that, possibly in tomorrow's post

In this month's Papercraft Essentials Magazine, Issue 153, there is a good selection of stamps, 18 in total and a stencil with 5 different designs.  There is a bonus magazine also included dedicated to CraftStash showing special offers, tips and designs for your card makes

I have made a few cards and the one below is using two of the stencils and three of the stamps

I used a 7" square white card and placed the larger stencil onto the bottom left of the card, secured it in place then added Cosmic Shimmer Sparkle Texture Paste in 'Lilac Blush' (CE)

Once the area was covered I removed the stencil.  You should clean it straight away otherwise you'll ruin the stencil if the paste hardens on it

The smaller stencil was used in the same way to the top right of the card and left to dry for a few hours

Once dry I used 3 of the stamps for the sentiment and used Versafine Onyx Black by Tsukineko

I added a few silver star sequins to complete the card front

The magazine is available from CraftStash
and, I think, WH Smith

Until tomorrow....

Hello and thanks for stopping by....
I've been rather unwell this past week or so but would like to thank you all for commenting on my posts whilst I've not been able to reply.  Fortunately I do try to schedule one week in advance, which, thankfully, covered the past week

I'd also like to say "thank you" to Mrs Duck, from 'The Ducks Doodahs'  blog, who sent me a lovely 'get well card', (I had a few happy tears) she knew I was unwell because I had to cancel my workshop with John Lockwood via Ang (Mr F actually cancelled it on my behalf) to say I was gutted at having to cancel is an understatement!

Ang has recently opened an on-line craft store, fabulous goodies at very reasonable prices and you can find her information by clicking on the 'duck' on the right side of my blog or visiting:

OK.... it's the start of a new challenge at Crafty Cardmakers, the lovely Angela is our host and she wants to see 'Anything But A Card'.  If you click on the link below you'll see the fabulous designs from my 'design teamies' and my contribution of a cake I recently made.  I'm sure I've previously shown this but it was the only suitable photo I had that wasn't card related LOL....

Here's the link:

and here is my cake:

apart from the ribbon it is all edible

For today's card I've used one of the papers from Spectrum noir Colorista Dark Paper Pad and used the metallic pencils to colour the image.  I think this particular paper would be ideal for the male species, would you agree?  It was very therapeutic colouring it.  I layered it to a piece of white card stock then added thin black ribbon  around it prior to adhering to the 7" square card base

I stamped the Creative Expressions's sentiment onto white card, using a black onyx ink pad then covering the stamped image with a clear embossing powder by WOW  and heat setting it

The verse, from my stash, was stamped with the same black ink pad

The metallic colouring does look stunning

I think I used all 12 pencils from the set for the colouring!

The above Spectrum noir range is available from Crafter's Companion & CraftStash Name/Number Picker has chosen....

Congratulations!  Please email your postal details to:

and your card and stamp will be posted to you

Until tomorrow....

Hello and thanks for stopping by....

A white with a touch of silver for today's card

This is a 7" square, white card base with a silver panel slightly smaller, then the top white panel a little smaller still

I then added the smaller white and silver panels to the left of the card and stamped part of the sentiment on the top panel

I die cut several poinsettias, in various sizes, and added a touch of silver around the edges.  The layers were then shaped, glued together and adhered to the card

I stamped and embossed the remainder of the sentiment to the bottom right of the card

  • white card base ~ CraftUK
  • silver mirror card ~ my stash
  • vellum ~ Woodware
  • silver pen ~ my stash
  • both sentiments ~ Creative Expressions (CE)
  • Metallic Silver Embossing Powder ~ WOW
  • Versafine Clear Ink Pad ~ Tsukineko
  • Poinsettia Additions Die Set ~ CE
  • pearl gems ~ CE
  • Cosmic Shimmer PVA Adhesive ~ CE
  • Platinum Machine ~ Spellbiners
Tomorrow's post will be shown at 1pm as it's a new challenge at Crafty Cardmakers and Saturday's Card Winner will also be announced

Until then....

Good morning crafting friends I don't think you can go wrong with the odd butterfly or two on a card.  Although there are more than...
