Hello and thanks for stopping by....

Because of the new challenge at MAWTT yesterday's post was also a Christmas card.  The lovely Jenny is hosting this challenge and she asked for Christmas animals, so when looking through my 4 large boxes of Christmas goodies (I know that's a ridiculous number but you have to remember we used to have a craft shop lol) I came across this gorgeous pretty aqua glitter card and the scene that was already die cut with the addition of a touch of light blue sky!  Consequently I can't give you very much details about the card as I don't recognise the die cut!

I die cut 2 frames, one in white the other silver mirror card and adhered them over the scene.  Using a larger die I die cut a centre, out of the aqua glitter card,  which  fitted over the frames

I shortened the sides of the aqua card so that it would give me side borders on the 5"x 7" base card

A sentiment was stamped onto white card and added to aqua glitter card and white card.  I snipped the back off the tiny tree brad and adhered that to the side of the sentiment

  • Aqua glitter card, white card and silver mirror card ~ my stash
  • Rectangular Die Set ~ Creative Expressions
  • Tree Brad ~ Create Impressions

Hello and thanks for stopping by....

A new challenge for Team B starts today at 'Moving Along With The Times' Blog.  Jenny is our lovely host and she's asked for 'Christmas Animals', and this is my contribution to the design team.  When you have a few minutes why not pop over to see the rest of the team's wonderful designs?

I decided on a 'distressed' look card for my design and used a 6" square kraft card for my base

I distressed the edges on a smaller panel of Christmas sheet music using my scissors then, with a finger blending tool I added 'vintage photo' and 'black soot' distress ink all around it.  This panel was adhered to the base card

On a piece of ivory card stock I stamped the row of buildings using a Stazon Jet Black Ink PadI added 'stormy sky' distress ink around the top of the image and 'black soot' distress ink.  A very light spray of water was spritzed onto the 'sky'

For the bottom part of the scene I added a piece of double sided adhesive and a layer of 'snow'.  This was not showing too well on the card so I added a layer of glue over the snow and sprinkled 'glitter jewels' on top of it

I used the pierced ovals die set to die cut the image and adhered it to the base card, I die cut a frame, twice, glued these together and added a little 'vintage photo' distress ink around the edge.  I added mounting foam to the back and adhered over the image

The sentiment was stamped onto ivory card stock and more 'vintage photo' distress ink added to the edges plus a little 'glitter jewels' above 'Christmas'.  I added mounting foam to the back and positioned it onto the card

I stamped a reindeer onto ivory card stock and 'fussy' cut it out, placed a small piece of mounting foam to the back of the body and adhered it to the frame

  • Kraft card ~ CraftUK
  • Ivory card ~ Creative Expressions (CE)
  • Scene stamp and reindeer stamp ~ part of a gift set from a recent craft magazine
  • Vintage photo, black soot, stormy sky distress inks ~ Ranger
  • Stazon Jet Black Ink Pad ~ Tsukinenko
  • Snow ~ The Ducks Doodahs
  • Glitter Jewels ~ CE
  • Pierced Ovals Die Set ~ CE

Hello and thanks for stopping by....

Ivory and black for today's theme

I started with an 8" square ivory card base and die cut two panels using a striplet die.  I didn't use the outer cutting die as I wanted the panels to be die cut into the card

I added a piece of double sided adhesive to the backs of both panels and sprinkled glitter over them.  I added another piece of card stock to cover the glittered panels

I stamped the sentiment using an onyx black ink pad

The outer cutting die was used to die cut the centre piece, both in ivory and black card and I created a shadow with the black card, as shown.  3D glue was added to the back of this panel then positioned into the centre of the card

I die cut another piece of ivory card and stamped the verse onto it as well as adding a little distress ink around the sides of this panel, using a blending tool, that was already inked

The sentiment was stamped using the same ink pad

  • Ivory card ~ CraftUK
  • Black card ~ my stash
  • Striplet Die Set ~ CE
  • Double Sided Adhesive ~ Woodware
  • Cosmic Shimmer Bright Glitter in Charcoal ~ CE
  • Black Onyx Ink Pad ~ Tsukineko
  • 3D glue ~ Crafter's Companion
  • Sentiments x 2 ~ CE

Hello and thanks for stopping by....

Technical Tuesday will be back 5 December

I love this vibrant background paper!  I found' it in my box of pink card/paper stock and this was all I had!

I backed the paper onto black card stock then added fuchsia ribbon to one side, this was then adhered to my 7" square card base

I used one of Spellbinders's Fancy Tags Three for the centre piece and die cut it twice out of white card stock.  One was glued on top of the other and a sentiment, from a recent gift set, was stamped onto it using Versafine Onyx Black Ink PadClear WOW Embossing Powder was sprinkled over it, excess removed and heat set

Three pink flowers and two white filler flowers, from Orchid Crafts,  were arranged to the top right of the card

Until tomorrow....

Hello and thanks for stopping by....
I think, at times, the males in our life do get neglected when it comes to card makes and these two examples are both a quick and easy design.  You could batch make, change the colour of the balloons and sentiment then all you need to do is add a verse

On the left is a DL size card, the right a 5"x7" card

I used a balloon punch, my stash, and left over card for the balloons and mats and layers

The white 'Happy Birthday' stamp is by Creative Expressions, stamped with a Versafine Clear Ink Pad, white embossing powder, Hero Arts, sprinkled over it and heat set

The other sentiment was stamped using a Stazon Jet Black Ink Pad

Now for Saturday's card winner..... Name/Number Picker has chosen....

Hello and thanks for stopping by....

I made this pretty coloured card for my friend's daughter's 11th birthday, which is today

Her birthday cake is unicorn themed, I made unicorn cupcakes in pink, lemon and blue, hence the colours for the birthday card

Simple layers of card stock, the top layer embossed with the Cascading Hearts E/F by CE, lemon and white ribbon adhered to one side with candles added to it

I used the Happy Birthday Circle Die Set by CE for the centre piece and glittered the individual cupcakes

I used the outer die cut for the inside of the card, as shown below and added another cupcake to the centre of it

The only decoration for the envelope was the stamped 'Birthday Mail' in the corner

Until tomorrow....
