Good morning bloggers, crafty friends and visitors....

Tomorrow I will announce the winner of the freebie card but it will be my last post for this year until I return on Wednesday 2 January 2019, with the weekly Wednesday give-away card

I have decided that I will only show a Christmas card, possibly once monthly, if that, as I'm going to make a batch of the same card for 2019, but, I will continue with the Friday Freebie, as long as I have goodies to give away

I want to thank you all for your loyal, continued support, it is so appreciated and wish everyone a very happy Christmas with an even better 2019

Enjoy the festive period and look forward to seeing you back here on 2 January

Good morning everyone....

Today is the start of a new challenge at MAWTT, our leader, the lovely Wendy, has set the challenge and this time it is for both teams, Teams A and B

Now whilst I'd checked what the challenge was (actually several times!) it wasn't until I came to load my contribution onto the MAWTT blog that, to my horror, I'd been, wrongly, reading the challenge!  What made it worse was that I've been so busy all week, especially yesterday, and wasn't able to add my contribution until about 20 minutes before my lift arrived.  Bear with me as I'm nearly getting to the point LOL.  I was reading the challenge as 'Anything But Christmas' and, as I'd been trying the 'expanding mousse' by Tonic, was quite happy to upload said mousse card, only to see, as plain as the nose on my face, that the challenge is 'Anything But A Card'!!  So this is why there is a 'photo of Christmas cupcakes that my friend had asked me to make and photos of a card

You can see what my teamies have made here:

#87 - Anything But A Card

Some of the ladies are also giving a prize too and Wendy is asking if anyone would like to join her design team.  Full details on the MAWTT blog

So, first things first, the cupcakes, they are chocolate cupcakes with a topping of chocolate ganache then decorated with fondant

I've had some Tonic expanding mousse for a while but only tried it yesterday.  I used a stencil by Clarity and generously added the mousse, the colour is 'hammered copper', to the leaves.  When you add heat the mousse bubbles up and gives a lovely texture

I then added a little product to my glass mat and added water to the mousse to paint the leaves

I added small black dots around each outline and finished the card with the two sentiments by Creative Expressions

You can see how textured it is on the photo above and below

This is what it looks like on black card and I used a white gel pen to add the faux stitching

Until tomorrow....

Yesterday I forgot to add that today's blog is scheduled for 9am to correspond with the new challenge at MAWTT

Hope to see you then

Good morning everyone....

Boy has this taken a lot of time to upload!  Uploaded to YouTube yesterday at around 5pm, it was still only at 1% at 6am this morning!

This really is a pretty gift box and, as I mentioned in the video, can be used for gifts all year round, as it depends on how you decorate it.  I've added more NUVO drops on the second side and will complete the third by this afternoon

Enjoy the video and if you make the box please email me a photo of it

The bottom certainly looks neater with it now being covered

Until tomorrow....

Good morning everyone....

It seems ages since I was here showing a card!  Once again, thank you all for your kind comments and get well wishes.  They are very touching and do mean a lot to me

Today's card is a commission for a gorgeous little boy who recently celebrated his 8th birthday

It's an A5 card and I cut a slightly smaller top panel of the same card, rounded the corners then embossed it

Mounting foam was added to the back then adhered to the card base

The two sentiments were typed and die cut

The star outline was die cut and embossed and I glittered two of the stars before replacing them back into the outline

Two triangular shapes were cut for pockets and adhered to the inside of the card

The remaining stars were glued into place and the 'You're One In A Million' die cut and embossed

The sentiment was stamped and embossed

I backed a photo, of the birthday boy,  onto a slightly larger panel of yellow card then white and placed it into the left side pocket of his card

  • Creative Expressions 'You're One In A Million' CED22005

Health Update:

When I visited the rheumatology nurse specialist last week she had x-rays taken of my hands and also gave me a steroid shot.  The steroid is helping but it's only a temporary 'help'.  The earliest appointment to see a rheumatology consultant is February 2019, a ridiculous time to wait, but the hospital (University Hospital of North Durham) doesn't have any permanent consultant rheumatologists, only locums!  The hospital, in my opinion, is rapidly going down hill, it was never like this when I worked there!  The one perk, that I really appreciated and valued was, if I needed to see either my consultant or nurse specialist I was seen the same day - a huge privilege for sure

On Saturday I had both sedation and throat spray for the endoscopy.  The nurse said it wouldn't make me sleep....  I remember the doctor telling me he was going to insert the camera and that was that, I slept LOL.  Woke up in a different room  with a lovely cup of tea being made for me.  Now awaiting results

Until tomorrow....

Christmas 2018 House Tour

Good morning everyone....

Sorry about yesterday, I was really feeling poorly and don't know whether it's the Humira not working or it is the Humira making me feel worse!

So here is a short video showing you where my wreaths are hanging and our two Christmas trees

I hope you enjoy it!

Good morning everyone....

I think winter is definitely here!  I couldn't keep warm at all yesterday and when I was writing this post I was actually shivering, not good at all for the old joints etc LOL

Today's card, or more the technique for today's card is called 'Black Ice'.  It has been around for quite some time but I 'cased' Helen Griffin's version

All that is needed is  card base, mirri card, StazOn in black, Versafine clear ink pad, a stamp or two and the sentiment

The dark shadow behind and around the sentiment is because of the unsuitable lighting we have in this particular room, when photographing mirri

Another card that is so much nicer in the 'flesh'

A 6"x6" Crafter's Companion e/f is the prize today.  The scroll image, bottom right, is the design on the folder

Leave a comment if you would like your name entered into the draw, which closes at 6pm Saturday.  The winner will be announced on Sunday's blog

Until tomorrow....

PS   there will be a video next week for this technique!

Good morning everyone....

Caz is hosting the new challenge for Team B at MAWTT, it starts today and it will run until 19 December.  Caz is wanting to see anything relating to Christmas and for my contribution I have made a cute gift bag and money envelope

You can click on the link to see the gorgeous designs my fellow DTs have made

I used white cardstock, 320gsm, for the base and added Christmas paper from a 6"x6" paper pad for both inside and outside of the gift bag

The small wreath was in my box of 'Christmas Embellishments' and I added a little extra decoration to the centre of it

Red and green tourbillon was twisted together for handles and I used my crop-o-dile to punch the holes for the handles and added red eyelets too

I stamped the tag onto white card, covered it with a piece of double sided tape, ran it through the 'Platinum Machine' then removed the backing sheet to add glitter jewels

I made a small money/voucher envelope, 41/2 x 31/4 then added a smaller panel of green mirri card then a smaller panel of the Christmas paper.  It's the same paper that I used on the inside of the gift bag

The white tag is edged with glitter jewels

The gift bag measures 4"x6" with a depth of 2"

Until tomorrow....

Good morning everyone.....

Today's give-away is one of my favourite cards, and I don't say that very often!

It's a black card base with a smaller panel of white watercolour card

The images are from a Woodware Stamp Set, as is the rose on the inside of the card

The verse, I think, is Creative Expressions

I used several distress oxide inks to colour the flower and leaves

I really enjoyed designing this card

The recipient will see that the inks on the inside card are actually a muted red and not anything like they appear here

To complete I added a 'Just For You' on the corner of the envelope

You have until 6pm Friday to leave a comment on this post should you wish for your name to be entered into the draw

The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog

Tomorrow's post is scheduled for 9am to coincide with the new challenge for Team B at MAWTT

Until then....

Good morning everyone....

I think this is a great way to use those papers that you may have put to one side because, possibly, you don't like them too much now.  This is how I felt about the paper I've used in this technique

The card designs are basic but they may give you a few ideas on using your stash

This week Craftstash are stocked full of brand new craft brands - they offer best price guaranteed on all products, meaning you won't be to get these great prices anywhere else or they'll  match the price!

BLAST FROM THE PAST! - oops, I didn't set the time to publish this!

Good morning blogger friends....

I came across this card when sorting my bundles to go to several charities. Can you remember when the swirls were very fashionable?  I'm sure someone may like this one

I think I got carried away with the swirls!

I'm sure the flower die set is by Spellbinders

The verse is by Creative Expressions, if anyone knows different please tell me then I can label the packets accordingly

Until tomorrow....

Hi Everyone....

I'm only posting the gift tag winner today as I've been Christmas busy!  The presents are wrapped, when I buy a gift, and once home, I wrapped it straight away, add the tag then note it in my yearly birthday/Christmas gift book.... and my hubby thinks I have OCD! LOL, anyways, gifts are wrapped, cards written and oversea ones will be posted tomorrow

Hall tree awaiting Christmas lights (hubby's department and he definitely does not have OCD) but the hall is looking very festive, the living room tree is nearly 'fluffed up' and will be finished later today

Now on to Friday's winner and it's another double!

Good morning blogger friends....

Well, 1 December!  Where have the past 11 months gone?  I think it still should be April/May LOL

I came across these photos that were taken quite sometime ago, (I'm talking several years at least) a friend's little girl, also called Kitty,  asked me if I would make her some 'Hello Kitty' cards to send to her daddy, as he worked away.  I was only too pleased I had a pack of embellishments to make her the cards!

Kitty loved them and I'm sure her daddy did too

Good morning blogger friends....

Red and gold baubles with tucks of gold, sparkly tulle

This wreath is hanging in our hall.  I had to use hot glue to keep the baubles in place and added a pretty red ribbon for it to hang

Craftwork Cards produce gorgeous papers as well as these toppers, the quality is excellent

You know the drill, leave a comment on today's post (you have until 6pm Saturday) and the winner will be announced on Sunday's blog

Hello blogger friends....

I used teal card measuring 41/4" x 11" and scored this at 51/2" and 23/4"

Use a die shape of your choice.  I think this set is by Spellbinders but I'm not 100% certain

Place the die on your card front and secure

Only place your cutting mat so that it will die cut half on the left side.  I placed mine just below the centre points

You will now see your score line but, if you use a detailed embossing folder you then won't be able to see it

I used a Spellbinders EL-021 and embossed using the inside design

Hold your card at the spine then gently 'flip' the other end to enable the 'flap' to show on the inside

Like so

I used the next 2 smaller dies, from the same set, for the front panels and used white card and a kind of sage green paper

The stamp set is by Creative Expressions, 'Amazing Sentiments' and I used StazOn in Jet Black for the inking

I positioned my verse behind the 'flip flap' so that you couldn't see it until the card was opened

I hope you want to give this a try!

Until tomorrow....

Good morning crafting friends I don't think you can go wrong with the odd butterfly or two on a card.  Although there are more than...
