MID WEEK WEDNESDAY FREEBIE CARD - DAHLIA DELIGHT!
Hi, thank you for stopping by....
I used watercolour card for the background and spritzed it with water, then on my craft sheet I put a very small amount of Pixie Powders in 'aqua lagoon' and 'candy pink and added quite a lot of water to the two colours to dilute them. Using a larger brush I picked up the blue and 'swiped' it across the card then did the same with the pink. The card was put to one side to dry
I die cut the Dahlia flower on white cardstock, twice, using all the dies in the set, then coloured each layer/petal with Versa Colour in 'raspberry', adding more ink to the centre of each layer then fading the colour so that some white card was visible at the tips of the petals. I also coloured the back of each layer
I used a ball tool on each layer then 'nipped' each petal to give it some dimension followed by adding glue to the centres to assemble the flower. The stem and leaves were die cut onto a dark green cardstock
Red line tape was used on the back of the watercolour card and adhered to the card base. I stamped the sentiment, as shown, then die cut a frame, added mounting foam to the back and adhered onto the card
Flat back pearls were added to the top and bottom of the base card and three small pearls added just above the sentiment
I used a punch for the insert and have left this blank so the recipient can add their own verse/words
Leave me a comment if you would like your name to go into the draw, please don't use 'anonymous' as I need some identification in the event your name is drawn, initials, pet name, anything like that
The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post
