SPLASH OF COLOUR WITH PIXIE POWDERS
Hi, welcome to my happy place....
I thought a splash of colour would be appropriate with this miserable weather we're having!
I spritzed water onto a piece of watercolour card and tapped 2 Pixie Powders over the area I wanted colour. I then blotted the excess water with a paper towel and heat dried the panel
If your card 'buckles' due to the wetness place it between a piece of copy paper and run it through your die cutting machine. I use a Platinum machine and used the die cutting plates, once done your card should now be level
I layered the card onto a slightly larger panel of pearlised yellow card stock and then onto the base 5"x7" card
On a piece of the same yellow card I stamped the sentiment using a Distress Oxide ink, and, as it's a pigment ink, I heat embossed it with a clear embossing powder
Mounting foam was added to the back and adhered to the card
I used the first 4 dies (starting from the centre as number 1) to die cut the oval design onto the spare watercolour card, added glue and adhered it to the panel
I adhered 2 metal butterflies to the card front to complete the design
I stamped the short verse onto plain copy paper using the same Distress Ink then covered the left handside of the paper and spritzed a little water to two opposite corners, as shown above, and added the same two colours of Pixie Powders. I followed the same procedure to dry the powders as above
To complete I used a scalloped punch on both edges of the insert and a pretty heart to the centre of the die cut piece of the card front
