Good morning ladies....

I'm at the hospital this morning for the second procedure and heart scan, so I am hoping to catch up with you all later.  My apologies if I can't, and if that does happen I'll see you for Festive Friday

Until later....

Morning Bloggers....

We're in the pink today and using one of my favourite techniques with the 'happy'!

The pink card that has 'birthday' stamped on it is actually the same cardstock as the base card!

Leave a comment on today's blog if you'd like your name to go into the draw and you have until 6pm Friday to do this.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post
Until tomorrow....

Morning bloggers....

I hope you enjoyed the extended weekend and I'm sorry if you have had the dreadful weather we've been seeing on the news!  Here in the north east it has been lovely!

I really like the concept of the 'open panel card' and, really, you don't need to be exact with your measurements as the card size can be easily adapted

I hope you enjoy this short video....

Hello bloggers....

I bought a few craft goodies about two and a half weeks ago, possible longer!  They've lived on my desk until today when I decided to show you what I bought

It's only a short video

Just A Not To Say

Morning ladies....

I had this paper in my stash and thought it ideal for anyone musical, preferably one who plays the guitar of course.  I added it to silver mirror card and adhered a piece of narrow black ribbon.  I did use a ruler for the faux stitches, stamped the sentiment and die cut it, I also distressed the edge of the die cut with a little black soot and a blender

  • white pearlised card ~ Crafter's Companion
  • silver mirri and patterned paper ~ my stash
  • ribbon ~ my stash
  • sentiment ~ unknown
  • black soot ink pad ~ Ranger

Morning ladies....

I thought the sentiment on today's card very appropriate because of all your very kind comments and concerns for me.  I've practically lived at the hospital this week!  The staff have been super, as has my hubby (he always is)

A&E Monday, (I said no to the emergency ambulance as I thought and said to the medic on the 'phone,  that I'm sure there is someone more needy than me, plus hubby could get me to the hospital much earlier than waiting for an ambulance.  Tuesday I was back there but this time to see an occupational therapist, who was fantastic, (dealing mostly with my hands and 'well being'), I left the department feeling as if Christmas had arrived as, Nik/OT, ordered numerous pieces of equipment for me, that I certainly did not expect nor asked for!  I was going only for new splints/supports for my hands!  So when you see the odd video with me wearing some special black gloves, that only show my finger ends, you'll know why

I had the heart procedure on Thursday, that was an eye opener, then 45 minutes to an hour later I was called for a heart scan.  Lying on your front, for 20 minutes, not having to move, having rheumatoid disease, and throw in osteoarthritis, plus lying on your boobs, is something I hope won't be repeated, but only time will tell.  If I don't get a 'phone call from them over the next few days I will have to return to the Medical Physics Department for the second procedure.... followed by another heart scan!

Now back to 'business'

The black base is an 8" square.  The pretty pink paper is from my stash.  I used a pair of 'fancy corner scissors' as you can see, and before adhering the paper to the card I added a thin piece of black satin ribbon down the centre, securing it behind the paper followed by gluing it to the base card

Two separate dies were used for the heart and adhered into place

Mounting foam was applied to the sentiment and adhered to the card

I did layers of black and pearlised pink card to the inside and typed a verse

I've taken a close up of the verse should you want to use it yourselves at any time

  • all from my stash with the exception of the two hearts, the black one is nameless, the red is by Memory Box
and now for the card winner....

Morning Bloggers....

I've retrieved an 'oldie' of mine for today's offering, when I get back to 'normal' I need to add a fresh layer of now/glitter jewels and a verse!

The darker blue card is actually a lot more subtle than it shows on here!

The 'Peace' stamp is another favourite Clarity Stamp of mine

I hope the winner of this week's Chloe stamp can use it too

You have until 6pm Saturday to leave a comment on today's post if you would like to be entered into the draw

The winner will be announced on Sunday's blog

Morning bloggers....

I have 2 CAS cards today that are a very easy make!

The pink card is 10.5cm x 13.5cm and the blue card is 10cm x 15cm

The giraffe card is a side opening and I actually covered the base card with  the pink embossed paper!  There isn't any need to waste gorgeous designer paper that way, or any other type of paper/card.... the thinking head is not thinking very well this week

I used the giraffe die to die cut the silhouette onto the white top panel card, then added mounting foam to the back of the panel and adhered it to the base card

The sentiment was die cut and embossed 3 times, glued together then adhered to the card

I used 'pastel rose' PVA glue to create the 3 gems

The blue card is  top folding and, this time, I only added a small piece of the blue spotty paper onto the base card

I die cut the top panel much smaller for this card as a contrast to the pink card and used an elephant die on this panel

The sentiment 'pitter patter' was die cut and embossed the same way as the other card

I used 'decadent teal twinkles' for the gems on this one

  • giraffe die ~ 'New Arrival' - Stuffed Animals/Creative Expressions CED10025
  • elephant die ~ same set as above
  • pitter patter sentiment ~ same set as above
  • welcome little one ~ 'New Arrival' - Little Treasures CED9308
  • pastel rose PVA Glue ~ CE
  • decadent teal twinkles ~ CE
  • baby papers ~ my stash

Hello ladies....

I'm  afraid there isn't a post today as, yesterday, I was taken to A&E as an emergency with query heart attack/angina.  Thankfully it was neither but the doctors are not sure what is happening

I'm having 2 procedures on Thursday morning, so if you would bear with me please I'd be very grateful

I'm happy to say that Wednesday's freebie card  will go as planned, it's just today's post that I've not been able to put together

Thank you so much

Morning Bloggers....

The base card is an A5 black cardstock with a smaller panel of blue cardstock

I used 2 different stamps for the background then added wide organza ribbon.  Double sided mounting foam was added to the back and adhered to the base card

In my stash I had the Chinese image as well as the 'good luck' sentiment.  I matted the image onto silver card then added mounting foam on the back and attached it to the card

For the sentiment I only added a little mounting foam

I used a domino to stamp the female image then added colour before I applied a wet glue to the back of the domino to securely glue it in place

  • all from my stash

Morning bloggers....

Such a glorious day yesterday for the royal wedding.  I loved Megan's wedding dress

Today's card is one I made quite sometime ago, it's amazing what you can find sorting through boxes etc

The base card is kind of a dark sage green with a smaller white panel with a white gloss card on the top

The white area was masked and for the background I used the technique with wax paper and an iron.  I've shown this technique before

The stamps are by Clarity, the LOVE was heat embossed with gold embossing powder and a gold paint pen used to draw a squiggle frame

Now for the winner of the gorgeous stamp set....

Morning Bloggers....

Still keeping with a sunshine colour, when our grandson was about 3 he would always say his favourite colour was orange, so I always think of him when I see anything orange (I think about him even when there isn't any orange colouring about too lol)

The pretty background paper is from my stash, I matted this onto black card then onto the orange base card

I randomly stamped images onto white card, placed the heart onto this, then drew a line around it and fussy cut it

It was then adhered to the heart, hubby punched the hole in it for me but before I added the organza ribbon I went around the edge of the heart with an orange ProMarker

The heart was then ready to be adhered to the card.  I added glue to the edge of both smaller hearts and sprinkled orange glitter onto them

The sentiment was stamped to complete the card front, I used the sentiment from the Curly Corner Stamp Set by Creative Expressions/UMS007

The vibrant inside of the card had a panel of black card then a smaller panel of orange.  When I come to send this to someone I will add another panel of white card to it

Now onto the card winner....

Morning Bloggers....

White and silver for today's card, another favourite colour combo of mine, this is my version of a card I saw on Pinterest

I started with a white 5"x7" card base, cut a piece of silver mirri 3"x7" and a smaller panel of white card, this piece was embossed then adhered to the mirri card and then onto the base card

The sentiment was die cut 4 times, glued and stacked together and positioned on the card

I used the outer cutting die for the silver star, shaped and scored it prior to adhering onto the card.  Three sizes of petals were die cut several times  to give a fuller flower.  The petals were shaped, glue added to the tips and glitter jewels applied to them

Once the layers were glued together I added a diamond gem to the centre then adhered onto the silver star

To complete the card I added silver and white layers to the inside and typed a verse

  • A4 embossing folder ~ Falling Snow/Crafter's Companion
  • sentiment ~ Happy Christmas/Creative Expressions (CE)
  • star die ~ CE
  • poinsettia die ~ CE
  • iced snow glitter jewels ~ CE
  • bling ~ my stash
For this week's give-away I have a set of Christmas stamps by Flower Soft, there are 9 stamps in this set, the stamps are excellent quality too

Morning bloggers....

You've seen a similar diamond centre piece before in one of the card I made for Papermill Direct

I started with an 8" square white card base and added a smaller black panel then a smaller panel of primrose coloured cardstock

The primrose card was embossed then adhered to the card

I cut a smaller panel of black card and another smaller panel of primrose card, I used a pair of fancy cut corner scissors on both panels, glued these together then added it to the card

The white centre panel was die cut, (it is the same white card as the base card) and I typed the sentiment prior to die cutting it

A frame was added after die cutting 3 and gluing them together

The flowers were stamped onto primrose card then die cut

I used black cardstock for the leaves and also added to loops of pearls and 3 black gems to complete the card front

This was the one made for Papermill Direct

  • black and primrose card, leaves & black gems ~ Creative Expressions (CE)
  • embossing folder ~ Rambling Roses/CE
  • fancy cut corner scissors ~ my stash
  • flowers ~ Heartfelt Creations/Arianna Blooms
  • pearl loops ~ Poppyfield Card Crafts

Hello bloggers!!

What a day, actually two days, not one thing has gone right card wise, but, I'm now back on track.... hopefully!

I have a lovely pearlised teal card for this week's give-away

The card is an A5 and I've used a white textured card for the base

Embossed the teal card, and before I adhered it to the base card I stamped the sentiment

The teal ribbon was secured to the right of the card, whoever wins this will see that the ribbon is a much better match 'in the flesh' than what it's showing here.  One stick pin was secured into the ribbon knot with the point going behind the ribbon

Two of the smaller sized dazzlers were adhered to the top right

The card inside, as usual, is left blank for the recipient to add their own verse or message

You have until 6pm Friday to comment on this post if you wish your name to be entered into the draw.  The winner will be notified on Saturday's blog and, it doesn't matter if you have won before or where you live as we ship internationally

Thank you everyone

  • teal card ~ Crafter's Companion
  • embossing folder ~ Sheena Douglass
  • sentiment & dazzlers ~ Creative Expressions

  • stick pin ~ PCC

Morning bloggers....

My apologies, just checked the blog and found that I had scheduled tomorrow's date instead of today!

Today we have a little watercolouring, letterpress and stamping

Start with a piece of watercolour card measuring 12.5cm x 17cm.  This card is a pure white and excellent to use

Using antique linen distress ink, ink the folder on the debossed side.  Ink it well then place the paper into the embossing folder and run it through your machine

This is a 3D embossing folder and my sandwich, for the Platinum Machine was the folder, card and the thin white plate

Choose the colours you want to use, then apply the ink(s) onto a glass cutting mat /non-stick sheet or a stamp block

Add a little water to the colour then, with your brush, pick up a little of the darkest ink, apply it to the centre of one of the flowers, dip your brush into the water again then dab it onto a piece of kitchen paper.  You don't want to have the brush too wet when you pull the colour, from the centre, to the rest of the flower

Apply the green inks to the stamp block, add a little water then proceed the same way, for the leaves, as you did the flowers

When everything is completely dry add a little gilding wax to the flower centres and the centres on the leaves

Stamp the sentiment using a Versafine Onyx Black Ink then apply a clear embossing powder over the stamped image, remove the excess and heat set

Dab a smoothie into the same distress ink and add it to the outside of the card

Buff the gilding wax with another piece of dry, clean kitchen paper

Add the top panel onto black card, leaving a narrow border then adhere it to the pink card

Using the 5th oval die, die cut 2 pieces of the pink card, then, using 4th oval die do the same again on white card

Glue white card to the pink, stamp your sentiment then adhered both die cuts to the inside of your card

I applied more colour to this card and used a 'Wink Of Stella' around the petals, the leaves and the rest of the embossed area

  • Watercolour card ~ Ranger
  • Antique Linen Distress Ink ~ Ranger
  • 3D embossing folder ~ 'Tangled Rose'/ Sheena
  • Blossom, scarlet, bud green and moss Spectrum Aqua Pens ~ Crafter's Companion
  • Old gold metallic gilding wax ~ Creative Expressions
  • Clear embossing powder ~ WOW
  • Smoothie ~ CE
  • Stamp Set ~ Dovecraft DCCS008
  • Oval dies ~ CE
  • Pink pearlised card ~ Crafter's Companion
  • Platinum Machine ~ Spellbinders
Until tomorrow....

Morning bloggers....

I love the colour aqua and have used it for the card base, which is an A5

I cut a smaller panel in white card then die cut and embossed the top left corner piece

The sentiment was stamped and embossed

The flowers were die cut and before I removed them from the die I lightly ran a pencil along each open area as you can see above.  I then shaped the petals and glued several layers together for each flower

I added a little glue to the centres and sprinkled some polished silk glitter over it.  More glue was applied to the back of the flowers then I adhered them to the card base

The swirls were also die cut and embossed and glued into place behind the flowers

To complete the card front I added 2 sizes of dazzlers

Two smaller white panels were glued to the inside of the card and a smaller panel of aqua card on top of each white panel

  • aqua card ~ Creative Expressions (CE)
  • corner die ~ Decorative Blossom Corner by Heartfelt Creations (a 2 die set) HCD 729
  • exquisite poppy die set ~ CE
  • 'ice blue' polished silk glitter ~ CE
  • wispy fronds die set ~ CE
  • dazzlers ~ CE

Hello and welcome..

We've had friends visiting this weekend, from Canada, so I've not had much spare time, which is why I'm showing you a 'blast from the past' card

I really do like the simplicity of this and revisiting it has prompted me to make a few more showing different coloured umbrellas

A CAS card for today's offering

I started with a  5"x7" white card base and cut another piece of the same card a little smaller
The umbrella and sentiment is from a freebie set included in one of Creative Stamping Magazines.  I think it could be from last year!

I stamped the sentiment first using StazOn Jet Black Ink then stamped the umbrella with Archival Ink Coffee

I used a pale orange watercolour pencil to colour in the umbrella and then a pale brown pencil., from the same set, to add polka dots

I didn't want to use any of the sentiments included in the free gift so I typed one, stamped the umbrella again, in the bottom right hand corner, then, very lightly, coloured it

On the card front I added several drops of Glossy Accents around the umbrella
  • White card ~ Papermill Direct
  • Autumnal Twist Clear Stamp Set ~ freebie/Creative Stamping
  • Derwent Watercolour Pencil Set
  • StazOn Jet Black Ink ~ Tsukineko
  • Coffee Archival Ink Pad ~ Ranger
Watercolour pencils
Freebie Stamp Set

Now for the toppers and stamp winner
