It's our friend's birthday today, an avid fisherman, and this is the card that was made for him. You may remember that last year we made a replica of a lifeboat he restored, The George Elmy, it was 2ft long
I started with an 8" ivory card base and added a smaller panel of black card
On another piece of ivory card I used 2 distress oxide inks, 'spiced marmalade' and 'vintage photo' to colour the top panel
I used the sentiment stamp, that comes with the image, and stamped it in black. I also added 3 flat back gems, large, medium then small
I used the same procedure, colour wise, for the smaller panel, as above
The fisherman was stamped using a Versafine Ink Pad in onyx black, as all the inks were still wet on this top panel, I added WOW clear embossing powder to it and heat set it
The stamp set is by Woodware
Super card June, great shading with the inks, xxxx
ReplyDeleteThank you Wendy x
DeleteI need this stamp!!! My Father in Law is an avid fisherman - it would be just perfect!! Love the colour you have used here - together with the black sihouette, it looks great!
ReplyDeleteHi Lyn
DeleteI have one of the stamps still available from when we had our craft shop. All the stock that is left we're selling at half price, some even below half price. So if you are interested the fishing stamp is £2.50

I too love this card but have no one 'fishy' in my small circle of friends lol.
ReplyDeleteI am a wimp as far as using an inkpad for anything other than an inkpad but can clearly see how versatile they are.
Good luck with the craft room when youve done yours you can come and start mine please - pretty please xx
