Hi, welcome to my happy place....

One of my sister in laws recently celebrated a 'special' birthday, this is the card I made for her and a mini album

I used a white A4 card base and scored it to give me an A5

I typed the sentiments on my computer

On a separate piece of white cardstock  I brushed a well diluted Pixie Powder over the card, let it dry and stamped the cocktail glass.  The top of the card was die cut for a 'fancy' edge

The strawberry was coloured with 3 ProMarkers, I covered the glass with NuVo Drops then added 'dollops' of Diamond Stickles to imitate bubbles

I used a corner punch on all 3 corners

Mounting foam was added to the main focal element then adhered to the card.  I used a black Micron pen to add a 'wavey' border and adhered a personal verse to the inside of the card

 The Album....

This cute little guy, out nephew, is now 17

The album is a trifold, with chipboard used for the front, back, centre and both spines, cut to size by my hubby

Mr F and I both love this particular photo of our nephew.  He's always loved sports and, up until approximately a year ago, was an avid footballer but has now turned his talents and passion to golf

I've left the page on the left blank in case my sister in law wants to use some of her own photos, I did add another photo to the bottom of this page

So cute!
The page on the right is also left blank as I don't have any photos of their grandson and thought my SIL would like to add some of her own

This photo is on the centre page of the album that, when the album is closed, is the inside of the back page
This page flips over.  I added a pocket, made 3 tags for further photographs to be adhered to them and tucked them inside the pocket
A waterfall design for this last page

Hi, welcome to my happy place....

I started with a 6" white card base and adhered patterned paper to the front, as well as inside the card, then die cut an apeture from the card front

The Christmas bauble was die cut and embossed onto white cardstock and the sentiment was also die cut from silver mirri

The scalloped border around the aperture was created using a Martha Stewart punch

Pure white vellum was used to die cut the single flower, and the numerous leaves, and white sparkle stamens added to the flower centre

The bauble was then adhered to the top middle of the card, then the multi layers of leaves added

To complete I add bling around the scalloped border

The winner of this butterfly stamp will be announced, on my blog, Sunday morning

Hello, welcome to my happy place....

I started with a 6" square white card base and die cut the border in a gorgeous, sort of, pearlised deep red card and adhered it to the card base

The 'LOVE' was die cut 3 times, stacked and glued

The hearts were the fall out parts from the border

I matched the coloured ink nearest to the card stock and typed the verse for the inside of the card

One cute heart was adhered to the corner of the envelope

  • red card ~ my stash
  • Cherish Border die ~ Memory Box/NO 98282
  • LOVE ~ Spellbinders

Hello and welcome to my happy place....

I explained at the end of yesterday's video why I couldn't show the second card I made from the paper pack by Simply Cards & Papercraft because it was going to be today's 'freebie' card

I started with an 8" square, white card base and matted the other part of the paper, from yesterday's card, onto a thin black panel

I adhered white lace down the side of the card then stamped and die cut the two miniture picture frames

I didn't want to add a sentiment onto the card front but the winner of the card is welcome to.  I'm more than happy to stamp something for you

I used a border punch to punch a pretty scalloped border on the card insert and added a strip of the paper to one side of it
I hope you like it as much as I do lol

You have until 6pm Friday to leave a comment on this post.  The winner will be announced on Saturday.  As you know it doesn't matter if you have won previously or where you live as we do ship internationally

  • white card base ~ CraftUK
  • pretty paper ~ Simply Cards & Papercraft
  • white lace ~ Club Green
  • border punch ~ Martha Stewart
  • picture frames ~ Clear Stamps & Cutting Die/Craft Sensations

TUESDAY TUTORIAL - Scenescape Collection From Papercraft Essentials Issue 156

Good evening!  Welcome to my happy place....

We woke to snow this morning as well as freezing weather, this must have affected our internet as today's video hadn't uploaded onto YouTube and I wasn't able to do anything about it until an hour or so ago!

Here are the cards I made from this month's magazine, plus an extra one from Simply Cards & Papercraft

The video is only about 10 minutes and I quickly explain why I'm showing only one of the two makes from Simply Cards & Papercraft

Until tomorrow....

Hello, welcome to my happy place....

I was asked to make a card by one of my relations for her mother's 80th birthday (neither visit this blog so I'm safe to post it)

It's an 8" square card with 2 white panels.  The first panel was flat glued to the card base then I die cut the top panel, twice and adhered it to a very pretty pinky peach paper.  I added mounting foam to the back and attached it to the card

I then die cut the white circle element, once on white card and again on the pinky peach paper, overlapped them slightly and glued them together.  I cut extremely thin strips of mounting foam to adhere to the inner circle  and used the paper die cut circle to seat back into the middle

The 80 was die cut 3 times, glued together, glittered and seated into the centre

I added 3 peach roses, one pearl stick pin and a few white sparkle stamens, and dotted a few gold sequins around the card

The sentiment was stamped onto another piece of white card stock, die cut and adhered to the card

I added a little pink to the tops of the roses but as you can see on these photographs, after the main one, it didn't show very well, so I added more ink using a blending tool, in a circular motion, on the tops of the flowers

I will add a verse later today and decorate a card box

Hello and welcome to my happy place....

I really like the clean, crisp look of this card.  I think I made it for the Crafty Cardmakers Blog Challenge as my DT contribution

I used one of my all time favourite embossing folders by Crafter's Companion to partial emboss the top panel

The heart die is by Tonic but I'm unsure about the make for the sentiment die

As there were only 2 comments on Friday's post, Sue MacFall and Littlelamb, I don't think it fair to pick one winner so I will be sending you both two lots of stamps and will pop them in the post tomorrow (Monday)
Until then....

Good morning crafting friends I don't think you can go wrong with the odd butterfly or two on a card.  Although there are more than...
