Hi, and welcome to my happy place....

A very bright and colourful card for you today!

With the exception of the two tiny pearl brads all the elements are from the 12"x12"
'Hey Baby' Designer Paper Pad

No die cutting involved, the circle pieces were cut using a punch and the banner fussy cut, mounting foam was applied to the back of the banner

I added a layer of the same paper then a layer of plain white paper and adhered two of the printed flags to complete the card

  • 6" white card base ~ CraftUK
  • Hey Baby Designer Paper Pad ~ sparky & Marie
  • circular punch ~ my stash
  • pearl brads ~ Hobby House

Hi and welcome to my happy place....

I adore white on white cards!  This is a 6" square card base with a smaller panel of white card with a slightly smaller top panel

I pierced around the edge of the top panel then stamped and embossed the sentiment

I die cut several sizes of poinsettias, shaped them and added pearls to each of the centres

Strands of pearls were adhered to complete the card front

I stamped and embossed the verse and stars onto white cardstock, added a slightly larger panel of silver mirri and diagonally adhered it to the card base

I have a 6 box for this card and will decorate it at a later date

This is this week's freebie stamp

Leave a comment on this blog post to enter for the stamp

You have until 6pm Saturday to comment and the winner will be announced on Sunday's post

Hi, welcome to my happy place....

I thought a splash of colour would be appropriate with this miserable weather we're having!

I spritzed water onto a piece of watercolour card and tapped 2 Pixie Powders over the area I wanted colour.  I then blotted the excess water with a paper towel and heat dried the panel

If your card 'buckles' due to the wetness place it between a piece of copy paper and run it through your die cutting machine.  I use a Platinum machine and used the die cutting plates, once done your card should now be level

I layered the card onto a slightly larger panel of pearlised yellow card stock and then onto the base 5"x7" card

On a piece of the same yellow card I stamped the sentiment using a Distress Oxide ink, and, as it's a pigment ink, I heat embossed it with a clear embossing powder

Mounting foam was added to the back and adhered to the card

I used the first 4 dies (starting from the centre as number 1) to die cut the oval design onto the spare watercolour card, added glue and adhered it to the panel

I adhered 2 metal butterflies to the card front to complete the design

I stamped the short verse onto plain copy paper using the same Distress Ink then covered the left handside of the paper and spritzed a little water to two opposite corners, as shown above, and added the same two colours of Pixie Powders.  I followed the same procedure to dry the powders as above

To complete I used a scalloped punch on both edges of the insert and a pretty heart to the centre of the die cut piece of the card front

Hi and welcome to my happy place....

You may remember I made a batch of this type of card a little while ago, but without flowers

I inked a piece of card with 2 Distress Oxide Inks then added a white dots to it (I'm still searching for a make of pen that will show a definite white image, if you have/use one please let me know!)

I then die cut a butterfly from a smaller white panel, adhered the inked card to the die cut apeture prior to gluing this to the card base

From the same coloured background I die cut 'Happy Birthday' and adhered it to the bottom of the panel

Four panels of cardstock were layered onto both sides to the inside of the card, and a verse added as well as two swirls to the opposite side

You have until 6pm Friday to leave a comment on this post.  The winner will be announced on Saturday.  As you know it doesn't matter if you have won previously or where you live as we do ship internationally

Hi, welcome to my happy place....

I started with a white DL base card, added a patterned pink paper to it then another pale pink, paper to that.  All the edges were distressed on the top paper

The sentiment was stamped at the bottom right then the chipboard garden scene was adhered to the card

I made 2 flowers from pure white vellum, added 'worn lipstick' to the centres and across the petals then gave the petals a little shape.  These were adhered together with a pearl brad

I added a piece of the darker patterned paper to the little chipboard bird, went around the edge with a black pen and adhered it to the card

The largest flower was then adhered below the bird

I used a few strands of the 'clear gems on a wire' plus the tiny pink heart and the two tiny pink round gems completed the card front

I stamped the inside of the card, and the envelope, with the same Distress Oxide ink pad, but have yet to add a verse

On the envelope back I embossed the flap as well as stamping 'hello' using the same coloured ink pad
