Morning all....

I have my latest, completed album to show you today.  I made it for my stepson's birthday, he loves 'bling' so you see it on most of the pages in one way or another.  It's shown without any photographs as my stepson has yet to receive his album which is why I'm unable to enclose any pictures

I hope you like it

Morning all....

The poppy stamp is one of a set of flowers by Sheena Douglass and is my favourite flower too!  There are 4 varieties of flowers with coordinating dies.  I don't have the dies and fussy cut this image

I stamped the flower onto the smooth side of  Ranger's, white watercolour card.  This card is a true white and the best quality I've ever used

I used several shades of Derwent's water colour pencils for both the flower and foliage then left it to one side to dry

The black card was cut to size for the 5"x7" base card and a Martha Stewart punch gave the filigree edge.  I also rounded one corner with a Woodware punch

The sentiment was embossed and heat set using VersaMark clear stamp pad and Hero Arts white embossing powder.  This is a true white embossing powder, I love using it

I also partially stamped the flower on the inside of the card

Before assembling the card I gave the flower a quick blast of heat then debated if I should add 'Glossy Accents' to it or a 'Wink Of Stella', the latter won this time.  It really does give a great shimmer, I usually use the clear and when I ordered it, from Amazon, I ordered clear but a gold shimmer was delivered!

Until tomorrow....

Morning all....

You may remember this technique I should you a while back, using elastic bands.  I think it does create good backgrounds

Distress inks were used for the background and the stamp is by Woodware

If you would like to give this card a new home please leave a comment on today's post

It doesn't matter where you live, we ship internationally, at no cost to you,  or if you have won in the past

The draw closes at 6pm Friday and the winner will be announced on Saturday's blog

Don't forget that every Friday we also have a 'freebie stamp' give-away too

Until tomorrow....

Using A Selection Of The 'Sport Stamp Set' From Joanna Sheen

Good afternoon!.....

The stamp set with this month's Creative Stamping Magazine Issue 56, is by Joanna Sheen, and it's a fabulous A4 page of stamps, ideal for making cards for the male population, as we do struggle with those at times

I have a slider card to show you and the card I demonstrated on the video after I repaired it!  There's also 2 ways I've used distress oxide inks for a background

I hope you enjoy it....

Until tomorrow....

Morning all....

Apologies for not posting a card yesterday as I was having a real 'off' day

This stamp set was a gift from Making Cards Magazine, I think a couple of months ago.  I've been meaning to finish several of the made cards and add a video, but as time is getting on I decided that I would show you two of the finished cards

This ivory base card is an 8" square and I added a smaller panel of red 'corrugated' card that I've had in my stash for ever and a day

The other papers are from the same issue in Making Cards and I added black panels to each paper

When I'd finished colouring the young ladies, using the Derwent Watercolour Pencils, shown below, I die cut the image and ran a black ProMarker pen around the edge

Handy tip:  I save some of the lightweight cardboard packages I receive and these are ideal to use when you want to add dimension to your card makes, it also saves using your mounting foam, I also use a wet glue when using lightweight cardboard

I used the same size circle die (CE) as the one for the image and die cut a piece of cardboard, I also ran the black ProMarker around the edge of this too, added wet glue to it, adhered the topper onto it then adhered it to the card

The sentiment and 2 hearts are from the same stamp set, stamped onto ivory card then I used a circle punch to give me the shape on the left and fussy cut the flag on the right.  Black ProMarker was again used along the edges, mounting foam on the back and adhered to the card

I stamped directly onto this 5" square card and used the same make of pencils for the colouring in

The sentiment and the other stamped images are from the same set

I used a Pilot Pure Liquid Ink Pen, in red, to add the squiggle border

Until tomorrow....
