Hello and welcome

I was so undecided whether to show this particular post today, so, 'loins girded and several deep breaths' I went for it

My first attempt at mix media, hubby said "you can tell", I had to agree with him, but, hopefully I can only improve.... I don't think I should have stamped the postage stamp lol, not that it would make much difference.  I really want to improve on this so I need a big supply of rubber gloves as I'll never be able to craft 'naked' (messy hands ladies)

I used black Gesso on the page then on YUPO paperI dropped blending solution followed by 3 alcohol inks, had fun blowing the colours with a straw, then left it to dry

I hope you can distinguish streaks of gold?  I used matt gold foil for that

Next step was to do some stamping, I did get carried away with it, then added the two sentiments

Now onto the winner of Wednesday's card....

Hello and welcome....

For today's card all you need is a good quality card base, glitter card, embossing folder and 3 pearls

Score an A4 piece of card in half to make an A5 - I've used Crafter's Companion Pearlised Ivory

Add a piece of glitter card to the base card - the glitter card is from my stash.  To save on the glitter card either use a die or cut by hand an aperture and keep that for other card, you can then use the 'frame' that's left for this card

Emboss another piece of the ivory card - I've used a folder by, I think, Crafter's Companion

Add 3 flat back pearls then your card insert

I embossed the left hand side with the same embossing folder and used a Martha Stewart Punch on the edge

The corner stamp is by Clarity and the sentiment/verse, I think, is again by Clarity

I have this die as a give-away today.  Leave a comment on today's post, you have until 6pm tomorrow to do so, and the winner will be announced on Sunday's blog

I must warn you though that you'll need to use wax paper when die cutting and there is a lot of poking out too!

Until tomorrow....

Hello and welcome....

I used a digi stamp for today's make and glued it onto a goldie/yellow card.  I used an oval die to cut both the cupcake image and the card base

The black is the background as I thought it would make a better picture, but, when you scroll down you'll see the glitters show much better on a lighter background

I used numerous watercolour pencils to colour the cupcakes, a silver paint pen for the cake stand handle then covered each 'plate' with Glossy Accents to give the impression of the plates being glass

I added tiny gems for sprinkles as well as Glitter Jewels as well as using a little 'Wink Of Stella' over a few of the cupcakes

  • cardstock ~ my stash
  • digi stamp ~
  • watercolour pencils ~ Derwent & Crafter's Companion
  • silver paint pen ~ my stash
  • Glossy Accents ~ Ranger
  • Glitter Jewels ~ Creative Expressions (CE)
  • oval die(s) ~ CE
Until tomorrow....

Hello and welcome....
I have a few 'favourite' colour combinations and today's make is one of them

I scored a piece of A4 black card by Papermill Direct in half to give me an A5

I used white card that has a linen texture to it, again by the above, and used one of my Martha Stewart punches along the edge.  I did this 3 times on the white card and twice on black, adhering them as shown above then finally onto the base card

I used both the open and closed Camellia petal dies by Creative Expressions, for the flowers and added a flat back black gem in the centres

The sentiment, again by CE, was stamped with a Versafine Onyx Black ink pad and heat embossed using WOW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder

I used the same punch again on the insert of the card but left it blank for the winner to address

Leave me a comment if you would like your name added to the draw, the deadline is 6pm Friday and the winner will be announced on Saturday's blog

Until tomorrow....

Hello and welcome....

The beautiful die does all the work on this card, hence you don't need to add very much else to the card

Take a piece of aqua card by Creative Expressions (CE) and cut it to make a 15cm x 14cm card base

Place the 'Chantilly Lace' die, by Crafter's Companion, on the right hand side of the card and run it through your die cutting machine  (I ran mine through twice then embossed it)

Stamp the sentiment by CE with Memento Danube Blue Ink

With the left over card take 2 flower punches (my stash) and punch 4 large flowers and 6 of the smaller flowers

Double the flower layers, with a ProMarker in Royal Blue, add some colour on the ends of the petals, it doesn't matter if the colour spreads further down the petals, it will add interest to them!

Glue a flat back pearl to the centre of each flower

Complete the front of your card by adding several more flat back pearls.  I used 2 small and one medium to match the ones in the flowers

Until tomorrow....

Morning and welcome....

Our only grandchild, Max, who you may remember moved to Dorset just before Christmas, (we and Max's dad (my son) live in the north east), it's so very hard for us coping with this distance

Last Thursday was parents' evening and Max received an excellent report.  The teacher said he was a credit to his parents as well as being "an awesome little fella".... very proud parents and grandparents as you'd expect

This is way I've made today's card to send to him and I've also shown what I added inside

The background is created using Distress Oxide Inks, I did block a border around the whole of the card but must not have pressed the lift off tape hard enough because the ink spilled onto the bottom of the card and one side, hence the wiggly black border

The card is a lot brighter too in the 'flesh'

The stamp set is unknown, which is annoying!  I used 5 different colours for the stamping on the card front and typed the insert

Until tomorrow....

Morning all....

I have a 'swing panel' card for you today!  I have seen this type of card on Pinterest but a lady called Edith has also made a tutorial and I'll link her blog below

It's a cute little card,
14cm x 11.5cm

The lilac card is from Papermill Direct, the patterned paper is from my stash

The white panel card was embossed using a 'Couture Creations' embossing folder named 'Encaustic'

Instead of matting onto black cardstock I went around the edges with a ProMarker in black

I've also used a new type of glue, and I think it's fantastic!  It's called Fabri-Tac by Beacon Adhesives, and when applied to paper it does not warp it!  I bought mine from Amazon

I was intending to add a strip of lilac cardstock to the inside edge but when I moved some card the black strip fell out of the pile so I used that instead!

Now for the winner of the stamp set....

Good morning crafting friends I don't think you can go wrong with the odd butterfly or two on a card.  Although there are more than...
