Hello blog friends....

I was given short notice when asked to make a card for a little boy's birthday, (I really don't mind when this happens, and this lady is a good customer of mine and has also become a good friend)

I had made a start in sorting my stamp collection, to a more 'user friendly system', and came across this set (make unknown), shown on the card, the day before!

I used a 7" square white card base and scored the front at 3.5" to fold back

The figures were stamped then the numbers in various colours, using Distress Oxide Inks

I then coloured the images using watercolour pencils (Derwent Pencils and Crafter's Companion) and once completed went over them with paper stumps to blend them

I used Tonic's square die set (used the smallest die in the set) to die cut 3 squares, then cut them in half, diagonally, to make a flag for the bunting

The same coloured distress inks were used to colour each flag and I stamped the letters using an onyx black ink pad. I added a thin line of glue to the top of the card and added blue and white jute so that the bunting looked as if it was attached to it.  Very small pieces of double sided mounting foam were added to the backs of the flags and adhered slightly below the jute.  The sentiment above the bunting fitted perfectly in the space above

I downloaded the verse, the cute bear was also included with it.  I printed it onto blue cardstock and die cut it using one of the oval dies from Creative Expressions

Hello everyone

I am going for the red and white traditional Christmas colour today and I do really like this      but also like to use other 'non traditional' colours too

The card is only 4"x5", it lies flat so ideal for posting and so quick to make.  You can change the colour theme easily too

I cut a slightly smaller white panel and die cut one side using the 'Frostyville Border' by Memory Box (No 98146)

The die cut was sprayed with an adhesive spray then glitter jewels Creative Expressions, sprinkled over it

I attached a red satin ribbon, as shown then added to small baubles that were die cut from red glitter card.  I added 3 red gems below these and one each at the top of the die cuts

The sentiment (magazine freebie) was stamped using Archival Ink in crimson (Ranger), both on the outside and inside of the card

I'm sure the above stamp set is by Crafter's Companion.  Leave me a comment about today's card and, as always, you have until 6pm Saturday to do so, the winner will be announced on Sunday's blog

Until later....

Good morning....

As the title states the new challenge starts today for MAWTT.  The lovely and very talented Jenny L is our host and we are also being sponsored by 'Crafty Ribbons', so Jenny would like to see a ribbon or ribbons on your card design

Crafty Ribbons will give the winner a ribbon bundle if they are in the UK, otherwise a non UK resident will receive a voucher to use in their store excluding postage

There are some gorgeous designs from my teamies so please take a gander and have a look.  Here is the link:

I have used a 6" square ivory card base and, with a smaller panel of ivory card, I die cut the two circles then embossed the panel

I used 2 colours of NUVO Drops to add detail around the circles

I used a selection of red ribbons that were adhered into place on the base card.  Mounting foam was applied to the back of the top panel and placed in position on the base card

I used a smaller circular die on another piece of ivory card then stamped a sentiment using a red ink pad.   A heart was added to the centre of this

Several card panels were added on the inside and a verse added

  • circle die set - Creative Expressions
  • 'Tulip' embossing folder - CE
  • ribbons - Poppyfield Card Crafts
  • verse - CE
Until tomorrow....,

Good morning everyone....

I have a sweet 'cottagey' style card for this week's give-away

All the elements are by Heartfelt Creations and the pretty paper is from their 12"x12" Arianna Blooms Designer Paper Pad

You have seen me make these flowers lots of times on previous cards.  The stamp and die set are one of my favourites

Leave me a comment if you would like your name entered into the draw

You have until 6pm Friday to do this and the winner will be announced on Saturday's blog

Tomorrow's post will be published at 9am to correspond with the new DT Challenge for Team B at MAWTT

Until then....

Good morning everyone....

I've used quite a few elements from various sources in my stash in making today's card

This is an 8" square white, scalloped edge card base and I scored the front of it at 4" so it would fold back on itself

On the inside page I used one paper from the 'It's A Girl!', an 8"x8" paper pad.  This particular sheet is also textured

On white card I stamped and embossed the verse and die cut it

I used the same designer paper, as on the front of the card, to make the green rose and leaves.  I added extra colour to the leaves whilst they were still in the die

The green designer paper is by Teresa Collins and was cut to  size for the front of the card

The oval white card was die cut and I used a very pale pink card (that just happened to be in my tray on my work table!) to die cut the Gerbera.  I added more colour to it using a blending tool that already had a darker pink ink on it

The stem and leaves were die cut from the same green paper and the same coloured distress ink added as on the rose leaves

The sentiment was also stamped and embossed then die cut

  • It's A Girl Paper Pad/Cavania FEPAD079 - The Range
  • verse and sentiment/Timeless Sentiments - Heartfelt Creations HCPC 3509
  • white die cut - unknown
  • rose/Bitty Blossoms Die Set - Spellbinders
  • Teresa Collins Designer Paper Pad - Creative Expressions
  • oval die cut - Spellbinders
  • gerbera flower die - Elizabeth Craft Designs
  • lucky clover Distress Oxide Ink - Ranger
