FOR YOU - WHITE ON WHITE

Good morning craft friends....

I adore a white on white card and to make this one I used several of the dies from this particular set by Creative Expressions

I used the largest cutting die and the next one down to give me the shape of the card and the markings around the edges

A piece of double sided adhesive sheet was adhered to white card with the 3rd and 4th dies on top.  I put it through my Platinum machine as well as embossing it

The covering layer was then removed for the die cut and glitter jewels sprinkled and burnished into the card.  I added wet glue to the back of it and adhered to the base card
I used the cutting die (3rd in the set) again to die cut and emboss 2 more pieces of white card for the inside.  You may just be able to see it on the right.  If you click on the image you can enlarge it.  I will add a verse later

I stamped a sentiment onto white card and used a circle punch to punch it out.  This time I used a grey ink pad as I didn't want the sentiment to look stark against the white card.  Mounting foam was applied to the back and, as it was going to be adhered on top of glitter, I added wet glue onto the foam pads

Tattered Lace's crocus die set was used for the flowers, obviously not to make a crocus this time, and a pearl gem glued to the centres.  I also used their single leaf die, from the same set, for the individual leaves

The completed cards measures, approximately, just over 4" by just over 5" (10.5cm x12.5cm)

PS  I did remove the black dot on the right side of the glitter!

INGREDIENTS:
  • 'Auvergne' French Collection Die Set - Creative Expressions CED2104
  • 'Amazing Sentiments' Stamp Set - CE
  • double sided adhesive sheets - CE
  • glitter jewels - CE
  • 'London Fog' dye ink pad - Memento
  • small circle punch - Woodware
  • Platinum machine - Spellbinders

CONGRATULATIONS & INK PAD WINNER

Good morning craft friends....

Our nephew is 18 today and this is the card I made for him.  He also supports Newcastle United Football Club which is why I made his card black and white

It's a 6" square black card base with a white panel off centre

I cut various widths of black card and adhered them onto the white panel

The horizontal card was cut slightly short of 6" and mounting foam adhered to it

I used a Crafter's Companion 'Congratulations' die for the sentiment.  It's a two piece die set and the solid piece was die cut on black card
I die cut 'congratualtions' 3 times from white card, but, when I glued the first piece I dropped it every where on the card except where it was supposed to go!  I did succeed in removing the glue but where you can see 3 tiny black gems above the word on white card, and below it on the black portion, I did not!  So annoying when that happens

The square die set from Creative Expressions was used to die cut 2 pieces of white card for the inside.  The top sentiment is another by Crafter's Companion and the two below are by JustRite Stamps

I made a corner pocket to house the cash we gave to Reece.  It looks as if I've removed part of the white card but in the flesh it does look fine lol

Onto the winner of the Ranger ink pad:

AMELIA'S BIRTHDAY & CARD WINNER

Good morning craft friends....

Amelia, my great niece, is 2 today.  Isn't it awful when you realise you don't have suitable stamps/dies etc to make a card for a 2 year old and it's got to be in the post the afternoon you make it!

I found this cute paper in my stash (make unknown) and embossed a 2 in pale pink, stamped the 'TODAY' added her name using the pretty stick on letters from The Works and, finally glittered the pink heart

I added the paper to a slightly larger piece of pink card then adhered both to the white base card

I die cut 2 ovals from pink card for the inside (again I wrote the message before I took the photo!) and adhered a little soft plastic bottle that contains silver stars and reads 'Fairy Dust', sweet for a 2 year old

MANY HAPPY RETURNS & FRIDAY FREEBIE

Good morning craft friends....

Well, today's card has colours I wouldn't normally put together!  But, in 'the flesh' it looks 'pretty' according to hubby!

I must say the two dazzlers in the centre stamped flowers are exactly the same colour as the smaller ones dotted around the card!  Even the three at the top look a totally different colour to the bottom two!  How the colour changes so drastically when a photograph is taken beats me!

The base card is a 5" square  pale peach card with the same size and colour top panel.  The panel was cut at an angle to reveal the stamped images underneath

In issue 193 of Simply Cards & Papercraft there is a gorgeous A4 stamp set and I used one of the larger flower
stamps for this design.  I used a Memento ink pad in 'sweet plum' and coloured the flowers using one water coloured pencil.  I also, gently, brushed the 'sweet plum' ink over the top of the roses

Copper bronze card was added behind the diagonal panels and the sentiment

In the same magazine there are some beautiful papers and toppers.  I used some of the paper for the inside of the card as well as the 'Special wishes' tag

To complete I stamped the front and back of the matching envelope

THROWBACK THURSDAY!

Hello and welcome...

I used a 6" square red card

I also used a new die from a new company (for me) that's  named 'The Art Of Craft. The die was cut and embossed on a  piece of white card.  I cut a piece of double sided adhesive and applied it to the die cut card, on the back.  The backing paper was then removed and I liberally sprinkled Glitter Jewels 'Icicle Sparkles' over the exposed sticky area and burnished them in

The die  also has a circular centre die but I didn't want to remove the centre form this card, instead I die cut a piece of shiny red card with this die,
I then  added a small piece of double sided adhesive onto a piece of white card stock, added the second circular die from my set and die cut it.  It then had the backing paper removed and Glitter Jewels 'Diamond Snow' applied to it.  I glued this to the round red die cut, added mounting foam to the back and adhered it onto the centre of my card

In this set I used the scroll banner and stamped it onto white card using an Archival Ink Pad in crimson.  I then placed and positioned the sentiment, from the same set, and embossed it using a VersaMark Watermark Stamp Pad, I then covered it with a black twinkle embossing powder and heat set it

I then fussy cut out the stamped banner, edged around it with a Promarker 'Berry Red' Pen

I added small red gems to the centres of the snowflakes and slotted a piece of red florist ribbon through the loop of a metal Christmas stocking and adhered the stocking behind the banner

A dries clear glue was applied to both ends of the banner then adhered to the card

To complete I used another stamp from the set, stamped it onto a lightweight white card using an Adirondack Ink Pad in Slate.  I then coloured the image in using several ProMarker Pens.  I used the same sentiment for the verse and this was stamped with an Archival Ink in Crimson.  The envelope was also stamped, front and back, again using one of the stamps from the set

You should be able to see some of the lovely sparkle

CHERISH

Good afternoon craft friends...

I have been doing a' tidy' on my craft papers as I knew there were lots of pretty papers that had not seen the light of day and have made a decision to use two per week, well, hopefully, at least one per week!  So here is the start

Most of my 12"x12" papers have been bought in Canada each year when visiting my dear aunt and this paper is one.  A very pretty peachy/apricot, I love the mottled colours

I have used a DL white card base and used one of the double pierced ovals to die cut the paper then the centre of the 'Cathedral Background' plus the first size outer cutting die (from the same die set) to die cut the decorative design, in white card, prior to adhering it to the paper

I used a selection of flowers to create the floral display

There was a little of the paper left over and I stamped one of the sentiments from the 'Inspirational Sentiments' onto the paper using Jet Black StazOn Ink

I used the outer die from the Frame One Die Set to die cut the frame on white card then added mounting foam to the back.  I then used the inner die  from the same set, to die cut the sentiment, once cut I adhered it to the white frame and glued it towards the bottom of my card

I added a little glue randomly to the flowers then sprinkled them with glitter jewels but have yet to insert  paper and a verse to the inside of the card

INGREDIENTS:
  • DL white card base ~ 21cmx10cm
  • Pretty paper ~ my stash
  • Cathedral Background Die ~ Sue Wilson/Creative Expressions (CE)
  • Mini Baroque 'Inspirational Sentiments' ~ CE
  • Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear PVA Glue ~ CE
  • Diamond Snow Glitter Jewels ~ CE
  • Wild Orchard Flowers
  • Frame One Die Set ~ Spellbinders
  • Platinum Machine ~ Spellbinders
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog, I hope my designs have given a little inspiration.
I read all your comments and really appreciate you leaving me a message

Until tomorrow....

21 TODAY AND EMBOSSING POWDER WINNER

Good morning craft friends....

We were at a relation's 21st birthday party last night and this is the card I made for her

It's a 5"x7" white card and the gorgeous paper is from a 12"x12" paper pad.  I cut the paper to cover the card front then made a cut of 2" high from the centre of the paper

I covered paper with a piece of double sided adhesive sheet and sprinkled glitter jewels over it
You can see the lovely glitter on the right

The cut area was turned back and burnished well.  Foam pads were glued in place underneath the fold backs

I fussy cut a butterfly, added pearl gems to the centre of it and brushed some aqua shimmer over the wings. That's not showing well on the photograph

The 21 was die cut 3 times and glued together onto the card and alphabet letters adhered underneath it
Apologies as I wrote inside the card before I took the photo!

I die cut the centre from the same paper pad, adhered it to the card them embossed the verse

The centre panel, from the die set, was adhered to the opposite page and I used the tiny envelope to add the money gift for Rebecca

Adding the glitter to the whole of the paper made such a difference to the overall look.  I thought it was more appropriate for a young lady celebrating her 21st

INGREDIENTS:
  • pretty pink paper - Sweet Sensations 12"x12" paper pad/The Range
  • alphabet and number stickers - Simply Creative/The Range
  • glitter jewels Creative Expressions
  • double sided adhesive sheets - CE
  • EMMA frames and tags die set - CE
  • verse - Live,Laugh, Love stamp set - CE

YOU'RE AMAZING & CARD WINNER

Good morning crafty friends....

Another DL card today

I thought I had 2 sheets of this blue paper left but on checking this was the last one

I adhered it to the base card, leaving a slight, white border

I used the the circular die, omitting the cutting dies from the set, to give a centre for the remaining elements to adhere to

Bear-grass was added first and I used my quilling tool to curl the ends once glued to the card

Added some sisal next, I must have enough of this to last me well into 2050!  The 3 blue roses where glued into place and brushed a little aqua shimmer over the petals

I embossed the sentiment and die cut it adding a little satin ribbon to the tag before adhering to the card front

There was only 4" of the blue paper left so I cut it in half and glued it to the card inside

I used the same dies, as on the card front, and die cut and embossed them to add to the card inside.  I will be replicating them again to add to the left side to balance all of it

INGREDIENTS:
  • DL card
  • blue paper - Craftwork Cards
  • silver leaf-bear grass - Poppyfield Card Crafts
  • sisal - PCC
  • Grace die set - Creative Expressions
  • pierced tags die set - CE
  • sentiment - 'amazing sentiments' CE
  • midas touch aqua shimmer pen - nuvo/Tonic

FRIDAY FREEBIE & TO THE BEST AUNTIE

Good morning crafty friends....

Today's offering is one I've made for my dearest aunt and will be posted, to Canada, this coming week.  She is so very special to me, we talk regularly and up until a few years ago we visited every year.  I'm hoping to continue to do that by the end of this year.  She really is like a mum to me, we are so very close.

It is an 8" square white card base and the centre, on another piece of white card,  is a triple flip die cut

Once I die cut the centre I stamped around the corners and decorated the triple flips

I used another die for the circle behind the pearl dazzler.  Die cutting it twice with a slightly deeper shade of wisteria and once in white

This was adhered to the card and I added the panels to the inside of the card

I typed the verse and made a pocket on the other side as I will be putting some photographs in there

Once that was completed I added faux pearls to the border on the card front and put the card, in a very safe place, for these to dry overnight

INGREDIENTS:

  • wisteria card - Creative Expressions
  • Specialist pearl  PVA - CE
  • pearl dazzler - CE
  • triple flip die- Spellbinders
  • whimsy circle die - Memory Box
  • sentiment stamp set - Phil Martin
  • purple gems - my stash
  • verse - Pinterest

TECHNIQUE TUESDAY - DOUBLE & SINGLE SHADOW BOX CARD

Good morning friends....

Phew.... what a performance with YouTube, again!  I am really new to this YouTube malarky and a few weeks ago I found another button (on my YT channel) to click to allow me longer videos.... yippee said I.  You are only allowed to upload content that is no longer than 15 minutes, today's video is approx 20 minutes.  No problem thought I.  I uploaded around noon yesterday and it's only this morning, when I used hubby's PC, that I finally uploaded this technique, but, I had to do it in two parts!!

It's so frustrating when you can't speak to a human.  Even though YT has verified I can upload longer videos, they have not sent me a code to put in my channel to 'confirm' grrrrr.  This is now my next mission to rectify this

OK ladies, the cards and videos....

Single box shadow card

Video - Part 1
https://youtu.be/NByuCOMzW94

With the final box card, below, I found it much easier and neater to apply the wet glue on the hinge and leave it overnight to dry.  I also put a stamp block over the hinge and the end result is, I must say, perfect!

I hope you enjoy the videos and, even better, give this a try

FANCY FOLD CARD

Good morning friends....

I really like this fancy fold card and once the card and paper is measured and cut it comes together very easily

The short video just shows how I decorated it

I've been on a mission to find a smaller bee stamp than the one I already have, so, when I saw the latest edition of 'Cardmaking & Papercraft' Issue 198, had a tiny bee included in the free stamp & die set.... it had to be bought!

Until tomorrow....

PS  I'm sorry if I'm driving you crazy with the changes of the background theme for my blog (it's been driving me crazy!)  I've actually resorted to the theme I had when I first started my blog in 2016!... 'if it isn't broken don't fix it' comes to mind
