THINKING OF YOU

Good afternoon....

I hope you are all well and had a good weekend?  I did make a visit to a new coffee shop on Saturday and it was enjoyable.  We have sun today but hubby tells me it's not warm enough for me to sit in the garden, I'm a greenhouse plant!

Onto today's card with a little watercolouring

I stamped the two poppies onto watercolour card using a Distress Ink in 'antique linen'.  I coloured the stems and leaves with 'peeled paint' (DI) then the poppies with 'candied apple' (DI).  I then used a very fine black sharpie and drew the lines on each poppy

The sentiment comes with the same Woodware stamp set - Poppy.  This was stamped and embossed with WOW Clear Embossing Powde

I haven't used splatters for a while so I diluted 'black soot' (DI) onto my glass mat and enjoyed myself splattering until I hit the brush too hard and created a think black line.... hence the 3 black NUVO drops to cover the line.  Isn't that annoying when you've nearly, or even finished, your design and bang you do something silly to spoil it?!

I added the watercolour colour card onto red cardstock then added it to the black base card to tie in the colour combo

Until tomorrow....

  4. Thanks June for sharing another good idea. Love your coloured poppies and commiserate with you over the excessive splattering - I have done the same on more than one occasion!!!

  7. Lovely card, June, poppies are perfect for Thinking of You cards. No chance of sitting outside here, too cold, windy and rainy. xx
