Good morning everyone....
The sun came out yesterday and was such a welcome change, I hope it stays for a while!
Today's card is a christening card I was asked to make
I decided to make a gate-fold card using 2 x 6" square cards and removing a slither of card from one side only of each card. Doing this will ensure your card closes perfectly
A Crafter's Companion die was used to give the beautiful filigree/lace affect on the side panels. I added a pale pink card to the back of each panel then a strip of white flat back pearls to the front
I cut another piece of pink card to fit the card inside and before adhering it in place I die cut a heart from another Tonic Craft Kit
I typed the wording and placed it inside the heart
Another line of white, flat backed pearls were adhered below the wording and as I didn't have a cross I improvised and used a crystal bling that I thought
would be suitable
I also made a much plainer card as well so that my client could choose, she took both!
I used a subtle mottled pink for this card and die cut and embossed it using the third largest circular die set from Creative Expressions
The sentiment was typed onto white card then I covered it with a piece of double sided adhesive, removed the backing and sprinkled Glitter Jewels/CE over it. Mounting foam was added to the back then placed onto the card
The hearts were also die cut
and mounting foam added to them prior to placing onto the card
I accidentally 'found' the gold hearts in a drawer so I added those on top of the white ones
Lola-Grace was also die cut and adhered in place, I added a tiny pale pink gem to the middle of her name
The card front was completed with a tiny rose bud and this time I kept the wire on it but gave it a little twirl before adhering in place
You will know that if you make a circular card you need to cut a little card away from the back otherwise the card won't stand. You can see where I've done this on the above picture
I used the circular dies again to add to the card inside and added another typed sentiment onto one
This week's card winner is:
Littlelamb
CONGRATULATIONS!
Your card will be winging its way to you
Until tomorrow....

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, these are both so beautiful and I can understand the client wanting them both! The pearl embellishment and lacy panels in the first are exquisite, and the round card shape on the second is a nice look. Love the personalized design and tiny rose
