SENDING SWEET THOUGHTS
Good morning blog friends....
Today's card is a 6" square, well we all know that the size is actually pertaining to the envelope and not the card which is always smaller
I used one of the gorgeous papers from the Rose Garden 6"x6" Paper Pad and reduced the size to 5.5" square
I distressed the edges using 'black soot' distress ink as opposed to adding a black panel, this also makes a less bulky card
This was then adhered to the base card
I used a die to cut and emboss the white card and stamped the sentiment using an Adirondack ink pad in 'raisin', it really blends with the paper
The flower is from a set I bought when in Crafter's Companion's Aycliffe store, I went in for pale pink card but a few extra goodies also went into my basket!
I used the raisin ink pad and a blending tool to add colour to the petal edges. To complete the card front I added 3 tiny black gems

What a lovely card! Such a simple card - no clever techniques, no matting, just a piece of paper, some stamping and a flower - Amazing!!! Perhaps we overthink some of our ideas - I certainly do!! This card is so pretty - must go and hunt through my 6X6 pads and see what I can create!! Although not yet - got an MDF & a Birthday card on my desk to finish! Hope you are on the mend!

Hi June,
ReplyDeletewhat a very wonderful card and such a beautiful design too.
Love that flower and tha paper they look perfect together.
Yes you are right we do say 6"x6" but as you say it is the envelope size not the card.
The only exception I have found is Dovecraft Card blanks.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
