Good morning crafty friends
You don't see me make a lot of cards for children but one of my commissions was to make two cards. I had ordered a stamp set and a few other items with CraftStash but because one particular items was out of stock I didn't receive my order! This is has never happened before and I'm still awaiting my order!
I have two great-nephews, the youngest was 2 a few weeks ago and the older one will be 6 next week. The commission was for 2 cards, one from a great aunt and the other great grandma, all boys! Oh, this little boy was turning 3. On top of this my printer died, actually is was 'playing up' something terrible to the point I borrowed my stepson's printer but can now happily report I have a new printer yay
So here are the cards
When stuck use balloons! This card went to my great-nephew
I stamped the stars and sentiment on the white panel then embossed it
I purposely left the 'strings' on the balloons as I thought Lewis may like to pull them
Had I a super large balloon die I would only have made two of them but as I don't he got 7 lol
I was undecided as to whether using different colours but, as you see, I went for different shades of blue but now think it should have been my first thought
This was a commission and the little boy in question loves running!
I got this image from CraftsUPrint. I printed the boy twice, cut him out to make a mask then coloured the background and stamped the words
The inside of the card is shown below
This card was for the same little boy from his great-grandma. I was told he loved Land-Rover Discoveries and after searching the internet for something suitable I had to give up the ghost after 3 hours and plumped for the one above
I had to fussy cut the image then adhered it to the blue card base. I purposely left a narrow border on the side as opposed to the top and bottom of the card
And, as you can see the inside of the card is shown below
I've another card nearly finished for my other great-nephew and that will be going in the post today
This week's freebie is a set of clear stamps
Please leave me a comment on today's post and the winner will be announced on Sunday's blog
Until tomorrow....
June x
They look great June and I think most find these more difficult, xxx
ReplyDeleteSuper cards, June. For some reason I find cards for boys the most difficult to make.
ReplyDeleteI hope your order arrives soon. How frustrating that all your items were held up because one was out of stock. xx
You made some gorgeous cards for your nephews. Love the one with balloons!

you have made fantastic cards June and I also love the card with the balloons.

Brilliant cards June. I also find these cards difficult to make. I have granddaughters but my sister has 3 grandsons and having no idea what they like I find it hard to make cards for them. Hope you have a good weekend. Take care.
ReplyDeleteLovely cards June!! I love a challenge from a commission - sometimes out of my comfort zone!! Not only does it give me a challenge, but I get to use 'stash' that I have forgotten about, or visit websites I don't go to often!!
ReplyDeleteLike you - I have a motto - if in doubt - use balloons - boy or girl - they aer always popular!!
Thanks for sharing!
Hi June these cards are gorgeous. We have a great niece and a great nephew now. It is nice to make children's card now and again. No need to include me in the draw this time. Have a great weekend. Take care. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteWhat great cards - I struggle more with kids cards than men's so these give me some really good ideas. Thank yu June.
ReplyDeleteOh June, you did such a wonderful job with these cards for boys that I would think you make children's cards all the time. The bunch of balloons are fun, and the choice of blue in different shades is a perfect one. Cards for boys are always tough for me, but you aced it!
ReplyDeleteI have to make a lot of kid's cards so I know how hard it can be to make one for little boys, but these are wonderful! I love that big bunch of balloons and your cute digi images.
