Good afternoon crafting friends

I love the size of this box and intend to make numerous more for my craft studio

I watched the originator, Sam Hammond Donald, make hers on YouTube

You will need a sheet of 12"x12" card and/or a sheet of 12"x12" paper/card for the lid
I have used card for both lid and bottom

Score on all 4 sides at 1" and 4"

*see tip below before scoring

TIP:  when scoring paper or card for a lid double a piece of card stock (as shown below, and hold it right beside the edge of your score board, butt the card/paper to it then score.  Repeat that on all 4 sides

You'll achieve a better fitting lid following the above

I'm using double side paper for this box and the underside shows the score lines more clearly

Remove all the boxes marked with a X

Remember to mitre the sides  and remove a chunk from all 4 tabs as shown below

Add adhesive to the outside of the 4 tabs

Adhesive on the outside of the tabs

Assemble the lid

Remember to mitre the tabs on the box base then assemble

I've add a white tab on the box front in readiness for labeling

I used adhesive tape to assemble the box but need to add white glue to the right side of the lid - you can see I've not applied the adhesive tape to the edge of the card

NB  yesterday Lyn H asked me the name of the paper I used on the fancy fold card.  It's a 12"x12" Hobbycraft paper pad named 'Sparkle and Shine'

Today's cardstock is also a 12"x12" paper pad by Hobbycraft named
'Painted Flowers'

  1. Thanks for the paper details June!
    Am also loving today's papers!!
This box looks lovely - unusual folds - will definitely give this a go!
    Thanks for sharing!

  2. Fantastic box, will definitely be trying this one. Thanks June

  3. Gorgeous box June. One to try. I liked the Hobbycraft papers yesterday and today.
