Good morning my crafty friends

A few days ago hubby and I attended a friend's mum's funeral, she was 98!

This lady was an extremely talented and artistic individual and, because of this,  was the reason why I decided to make today's card  a little different to the usual condolence cards

I made a 6" square card using a pretty linen cardstock , I cut the white card to fit the size of the stamp and a slightly larger panel of black card

A large corner punch was used on only the white card

I chose a distress oxide ink pad to ink the stamp then spritzed a little water over it to give a distressed look

This lady loved butterflies, there is one in the top left corner and the words at the top read....

'Keeper of my soul
Holder of my heart'

towards the bottom right there is FRAGILE in the image.  I thought that was appropriate also for her son

I used the same stamp to stamp the envelope using a black ink pad

  • linen card - Vintage Lace Collection/Crafter's Companion (CC)
  • floral stamp - Woodward
  • distress oxide - milled lavender/Ranger
  • insert sentiment - CC
This week's freebie is a set of pale lavender dazzlers by Creative Expressions.  You can add your own colour to these using various marker pens

Leave me a comment if you would like your name added to the draw and you have until 6pm Saturday to do so.  The winner, picked by
 Random Name Picker
will be announced on Sunday's blog

Hope you all have a good weekend
