Good morning everyone....

I hope yesterday was a lovely sunny day for you.  It certainly was in the north east!

On Monday I posted this card and kept looking at it when I was in my craft room as I thought it really could do with a little something to lift the poppies

I added Glossy Accents/Ranger to the flower heads and that made such a difference to the richness of the flowers and the card, in my opinion, looks far more inviting than the one above

I also added a few drops of the Glossy Accents to the leaves

Unfortunately, for some unknown reason, you can't see the shine on the full card, unlike the two above.... grrr!

So when you are making your special card and you think it may need a little 'extra boost' try Glossy Accents or whatever you may have in your stash!

Until tomorrow....

Good morning bloggers, friends & visitors....

Our card for this week's give away is a dahlia inspired design

I used a white 5"x7" card base and then on watercolour card I splashed a little blue colour across it

I made the dahlia flower, by Elizabeth Craft Designs Die Set, by adding shades of pink and peach onto lightweight cardstock and spritzing it all over.  I ensured the centre of the flower was left a deep shade of pink.  I also added colour to the back of the petals

The stalk and leaves were die cut from green cardstock and I added a deeper colour to the centre of both leaves

I die cut a frame from white cardstock and temporarily positioned it to see where I could stamp my sentiment (my stash).  Once stamped I added mounting foam to the frame and adhered it in place

To complete 3 pearls were adhered to the top and bottom of the card, one in the centre of the flower and 3 beside the sentiment

As always if you would like to give this card a new home please comment on this post by 6pm Friday.  We use Random.Name Picker to choose a winner therefore it doesn't matter if you have won previously.  We also ship internationally at our own expense

Until later....

Good afternoon....

I hope you are all well and had a good weekend?  I did make a visit to a new coffee shop on Saturday and it was enjoyable.  We have sun today but hubby tells me it's not warm enough for me to sit in the garden, I'm a greenhouse plant!

Onto today's card with a little watercolouring

I stamped the two poppies onto watercolour card using a Distress Ink in 'antique linen'.  I coloured the stems and leaves with 'peeled paint' (DI) then the poppies with 'candied apple' (DI).  I then used a very fine black sharpie and drew the lines on each poppy

The sentiment comes with the same Woodware stamp set - Poppy.  This was stamped and embossed with WOW Clear Embossing Powde

I haven't used splatters for a while so I diluted 'black soot' (DI) onto my glass mat and enjoyed myself splattering until I hit the brush too hard and created a think black line.... hence the 3 black NUVO drops to cover the line.  Isn't that annoying when you've nearly, or even finished, your design and bang you do something silly to spoil it?!

I added the watercolour colour card onto red cardstock then added it to the black base card to tie in the colour combo

Until tomorrow....
