NEW CHALLENGE AT MAWTT

Good morning blog friends....

Today starts a new challenge for Team B at MAWTT and it runs until 19 June.  Christine is our host for the next two weeks and she is asking for us to follow her sketch, shown below.  If you wish to change the orientation you can as long as she can see the elements are there
I think all the DTs have followed the sketch to the letter this time

Here is the link:

and here is my card

I started with an 8" ivory card base, top folding
The flowered paper is from the 'Mulberry Kisses' 8"x8" paper pad
All the papers were adhered to black cardstock
The pale blue paper is from an A4 paper pad that I must have had for, at least, 15 years.  It's called 'Designer Board' and all the pastel colours have a mottled look but with the one I've used it looks like clouds

I used the Stitched Flags from the 'Pierced  Tags' set by Creative Expressions and die cut and embossed the blue papers using the 'Falling Snow' e/f and the 'Linen' e/f, also by CE

The sentiment was stamped with an onyx black ink pad and the stamp is by JustRite

I've added a panel of black card to the inside of the card then a smaller panel of the blue paper.  When I know what I'm going to do with the card I will add a suitable verse

Why don't you take a little jaunt over to MAWTT and see what my team buddies have created with the design?

Until tomorrow....

WEEKLY WEDNESDAY CARD GIVE-AWAY.... SOMETHING TOTALLY DIFFERENT!

Good morning blog friends....

I don't think anyone will be expecting this type of card today but I really enjoyed making it!

I've used only one alcohol ink in 'sail boat blue' on the piece of YUPO paper.  The different shades of blue are achieved by adding water or a little alcohol.  When dry I drop a tiny amount of gold alcohol ink in several places

Once dry I added  the paper to a slightly larger panel of black cardstock then finally onto an A5 white card base

The sentiment and verse are from a stamp set by Altenew and I love each and everyone of them

I edged the tag with a black distress ink

The verse looks a little lost in the A5 card but it does make me smile

As always if you would like to give this card a new home please comment on this post by 6pm Friday.  We use Random.Name Picker to choose a winner therefore it doesn't matter if you have won previously

We also ship internationally at our own expense

INGREDIENTS:
  • YUPO 5"x7" paper - Ranger
  • sail boat blue and gold alcohol ink - Ranger
  • black soot distress oxide ink - Ranger

Until tomorrow

PS  I was posting the 'Tuesday Technique' tomorrow but it's a new challenge for Team B at MAWTT.  I'll now post the technique on Friday and tomorrow's post is scheduled for 9am

FUN MALE CARD

Good morning blog friends....

It's one of our friend's birthday tomorrow, he's an avid fisherman and retired from boat building (hence the anchors).  I thought I would go for a 'fun' card for him as opposed to a more sensible design!

The white base is a 6" square and I downloaded the papers from Simply Cards & Papercraft's site

I used 'black soot' DO around all the edges apart from the bottom sentiment

A brad was used for the fish's eye and the blue fish paper had mounting foam added to it for dimension
Hubby took the photographs and when he opened the card asked me why the cat?!  I thought it was pretty obvious lol, because of all the fish its looking at!... he wasn't impressed lol

I embossed the sentiment and added a few bubbles to three of the fish and used my 'wink of Stella' to another three fish

INGREDIENTS:
  • white card - CraftUK
  • papers - Simply Cards & Papercraft
  • black soot distress oxide - Ranger
  • 'Fish Bowl' stamps - Creative Expressions
  • Wink Of Stella pen

Until tomorrow....

TWO CAS CARDS & DISTRESS INK WINNER

Good morning bloggers....

I hope your weekend is going favourably.  June 1st yesterday and I still had to have the heating on!  Is it me or really the weather?

I have two CAS cards today, I know a few of you may struggle with this type of card but I really like making them.  I have had the rose and tulip stamps for twenty years or more, each were on their own acrylic block so hubby removed them for me then I couldn't get them to stay in place on either of my stamping platforms until I remembered Umount and adhering them to it did the trick.... success!

I managed to cut off the corner when taking the photograph but was so tired I couldn't go back to the camera and retake it, so my apologies for that

DL base cards with smaller of panels of black, yellow, black then white cardstock

I used the same colour watercoloured pencils to colour both flowers and when dry I added a shimmer pen to both flower heads

I do think it makes a huge difference when you emboss the top panel, as on the right-hand side card.  I also used a corner punch on this card too

    INGREDIENTS:
    • Umount - Creative Expressions
    • flower stamps - unknown/my stash
    • watercolour pencils - Derwent
    • linen embossing folder - CE
    • black gems - CE
    • corner punch - Woodware/CE
