An insight to my card designs, tutorials, videos and tips.
If somebody tells you that you have enough craft supplies and you don't need anymore... stop talking to them! You don't need that kind of negativity in your life!
A colourful shaker card today. I started by colouring a piece of white cardstock with two distress oxide inks. I then die cut the 'love' to cover both colours
I added acetate to the inside of the lettering, adhered it to the card as well as mounting foam to the edges. Lots of gold confetti, and a touch of blue confetti was added, the mounting foam removed and a piece of cardstock, that was from the A5 card I had coloured, was adhered to the back
I don't know why the 'LOVE' background looks blackish, other than my photography skills not being too good, as it's just a slightly lighter shade of the front of the card!
A black mat was added and the card was ready to adhere to the yellow base card
From my stash of die cut letters I coloured 'you' with abandoned coral DO and before adhering to the card I added a shadow in black, also coloured with a black pen
I added a few tiny black gems around the card
The sentiment was stamped and embossed onto white copy paper and a corner punch was used
I have two videos today! The first one is showing how to make an album using card blanks, the second shows the decorated album
Unfortunately the tutorial is a tad long and if I've not made myself clear enough please tell me and I'll do my best to clarify any query you may have
After making the first album and not being able to download to the computer (that was a first) and many frustrating hours later the 'mission' was aborted. That particular tutorial was 58 minutes, so, this one, you'll be pleased to hear, is approximately halved
I have an easel card as this week's give-away. All the elements came from the first craft box by Crafter's Companion, but, the 3 flowers in the bottom left corner I stamped using the stamp set from the last Tonic Craft Kit. I add colour using a watercolour pencil
I've also decorated the small panels, it looks a little strange when the card is opened fully, but I wanted to show you the full layout
As always if you would like to give this card a new home please comment on this post by6pm Friday. We useRandom.Name Pickerto choose a winner therefore it doesn't matter if you have won previously
What a day I had yesterday! Disaster from start to finish with making my video for the mini album using cards
It was a long video, granted, but would it download to hubby's computer, it would not! My computer is old, it's Windows 7 and I love it, probably because I'm used to it and that was what I used when I worked for the NHS and PCT
Steve did buy me Windows 10 but, unfortunately I really do not like it, and, that's putting it mildly. I gain a little solace knowing that one of my good friends now uses this where she works and she, in her words, "detests Windows 10". That makes me feel a tad better because she is very savvy with the computer, where as for me, I don't like anything technical haha
So I was going to move 'Technique Tuesday' to Thursday for this week and bring forward Thursday's card for today, but, blow me, whilst it was scheduled for Thursday it's no longer showing in my posts and I've no idea where it has gone! I've certainly not deleted it
You may notice that the photos of my 'followers' has moved to a different position and the font is also smaller, now that's my fault because I thought I would try a more subtle blog background and whilst I did click on 'keep changes' I'm not guilty of deleting Thursday's card!.... phew!
So that's the state of play for today and I will return tomorrow with the give-away card
I hope you all have or are having a good day, I only hope mine improves compared to yesterday lol
I hope you all have had a good weekend and the weather was good for you
For today's card I used an 8" square ivory card base and made smaller panels of black and ivory
I then added the pretty paper that reminds me of lace and distress the edges a little
The frame was a little challenge in that I die cut it 6 times in ivory card and once with black card. I need height to the frame but due to the design I was unable to add any mounting foam! I do like the die. I added the black card under the top layer to give a shadow effect as well as distressing all the edges
The tag is from the same die set, die cut in black, again for a shadow effect then ivory
The orange flowers are from the first Crafter's Companion Monthly Kit (I haven't bought further since) the other roses and leaves from my stash
I will be decorating the inside of the card once I decide where it's going
