Good morning crafty friends
I hope the weather isn't causing you too much problem? It's wet and windy here, last night it snowed for a while but didn't cover anything because of the rain
Today is the start of the new monthly challenge at MAWTT
I apologise that I didn't mention yesterday that today's blog post would be shown at 9am, in line with MAWTT going live
Caz is the host and she wants to see 'ANYTHING BUT A CARD' and here is the link where you'll see what the other DTs have made
#116 Anything But A Card
I made a wreath
Hobbycraft advertised 'Spring Wreath Decorating' and I added my name to the list, (it was only £5! and that should have rang bells!)
The wreath and the materials to decorate it were set out on a table and it was left for you to decorate it using the plastic(!) materials. All that was said, by a young staff member, was the "hot glue guns were on a separate table"!
Some of the ladies didn't have any idea what to do! There wasn't any greeting, no 'housekeeping' was mentioned, quite shocking really. I was the first one at the venue and was greeted with (who was a more mature person and, apparently, a manager):
me.... "hello"
staff member/manager.... it doesn't start until 11.30 (I was 10 minutes early)
me.... "I know but I have limited mobility and prefer to be a little early"
staff member/manager.... find a seat, you'll just have to wait!
Within 2 minutes everyone else entered the room and not a word was said! Shocking really for a big company not to train their staff in 'meeting and greeting' and smiling, which I think is important
So, in my opinion, I would not recommend this
This week's Friday Freebie winner is:

Sounds a bit of a disappointment for you June but I like your wreath all the same!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely wreath. Sorry about your experience at your Hobbycraft. Ours is much different. Very friendly staff and always willing to help you. I had forgotten about the wreath making but was in the store at the time and the lady doing it was very helpful to the people taking part. She was there all the time.
ReplyDeleteSorry forgot congratulations to Wendy.
ReplyDeleteHi June,
ReplyDeletethis is such a lovely wreath I really like the unusual shape of it as you expect wreaths to be round.
It looks almost egg shaped so would be ideal for Easter.
Love the foliage also.
Well that was terrible for a big craft store like that.
I bet you could have taught them a few things as they sounded very unprofessional.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Sorry I too fogeot to congratulate Wendy on her win.
ReplyDeleteHi June this is a stunning creation. I love it. Take care. Hugs Jackie

ReplyDeleteHi June,

And sometimes it's a pity how people behave..Hope it was only for this time.
Congrats to Wendy!
Wow that wasn’t a good workshop. Your wreath looks very pretty though
ReplyDeleteIt does look good but bad customer service, xxxx
ReplyDeleteYour wreath looks lovely June, despite the badly trained staff. Certainly not a great recommendation for Hobbycraft! Congratulations to Wendy on her win. xx
